Good morning!!!!

About 50 this AM. Overcast....suppose to have had or will have a heavy rain this morning? Has not shown up yet.

The wife still has a tape line running down her neck to her tailbone. I mentioned the power washer and for some reason, that did not go over well.

It was nice cleaning things up, it has been a while since I could do some real chores. Unfortunate, the RTV bed looks like it will need replacement soon. I primed and painted it last year or so, but the rust still looks to be advancing. It's an original first year model, so no complaints. Been a manure hauler as the prime duty since day one. Not a fate I would have imagined for it.

Hope all are feeling better today. Be safe and enjoy the day!

The low so far is 27* yesterday it only got up to 37*. Today is going to be overcast this morning and some sun in the afternoon. It should make it up to the low 40's for a high.

I think I'll put tire chains on the side by side today. It didn't want to make it up the hill the other day when I helped the neighbor. Not much else going on today.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.
CWB.

Yesterday I picked up two of those fancy headlamps from Amazon. They should be here by Wednesday as well. LED Headlamp, SGODDE Super Bright 5 LED 8000 Lumens Zoomable Headlight - 4 Modes XML T6 LED Waterproof Head torch with Rechargeable Batteries for Outdoor Hiking Camping Hunting Fishing Cycling Running, Headlamps - Amazon Canada

That looks like the same light I purchased. Hope it works as good as the one I have.

It was on your recommendation that I went searching amazon.ca for one. The product numbers are different, but as long as they work as good as yours I will be happy.

When the hydro goes out here the house is really dark and having the head light on would be a bonus as it will free up a hand for going downstairs to switch the juice for the sump pump.
Also, have you ever tried to see a dark object inside of a darker object at night? It is near impossible. You gotta have a flashlight of sorts. I typically load asphalt (black) in the dark (might as well be dark, the lights near the loading rack are only for walking) and the asphalt is going into a dark hole called my tanker. The flashlights I have been using, although intrinsically sound take away a much needed hand to deal with the loading pipe. All of the asphalt terminals I haul out of are top loading only.

Good morning all! 25* this morning, dry, going to 52*. Just gonna rant here this morning. Had a horrible duty shift this week. Had many bad calls this week... A 60 something grandmom w/ her face smashed by her schizophrenic grandson using an electric guitar... She's in intensive care now.. Brain bleeds. Had a couple of people shot over BS! Drug deals gone bad. Had another homeless patient decide he was going to assault my partner in the back of the rig while we were transporting him "to get help"... He had no medical complaint. Had a round and round knock down in the back taking the both of us to get him controlled. Police came and took him, in custody, to the mental health facility. He was out back on the street the next morning! 2 days later we responded to a 'secure' mental health facility to transfer a patient back to the hospital because he was threatening and assaulting staff, other patients, and smashing things. Wait... That's why he's there.. For treatment. No they are just passing him off to another facility! It takes 2 EMS crews to get him subdued and secured to the gurney, after which we find a fork and butter knife in his pockets both bent into "shanks". Situation could have been much seriously worse.
Pretty much started thinking what has happened to our society.. Why am I still doing this job? Better yet.. Why do I love this job so much to keep doing it? Then I get my reason...

98 year old, mother of eight, (lost 2 already) grandmother of 32, great grandmother of 20. How do I know all this? Because we had a great conversation about families. Not once did she complain about her illness(and she was really, really, sick). She did not 'demand' anything, she didn't 'expect' anything, she didn't even ask for anything. We helped (treated her illness), made her comfortable, any made a situation "better" for her any way we could. We talked about everything but the situation.
Now I know the answer to my question of "why do I do this"... For this Lady.. For the next one like her... For the person who got hurt...

Anyway enough for the rant... Got it off my chest...

Prayers out to all of you who need them, even for those who don't.
I look forward to my first day off just to get here and read about you guys.. I don't know you guys, but I feel like I do. I have become addicted.. The wife too.. We have had tears in our eyes, we have laughed so hard that it hurt!

Good stuff! Keep it up... It's keeping my sanity.

47° heard rain in the night, nothing right now.

Wife wants me to swap the TVs, take the projection one to the basement. It came with a huge stand, which has most of the components on it. So to bring the flat screen up, i need a new stand. I also need help. Probably will take it outside and around to basement door, rather than try to carry it down steps. Basement tv is 1" diagonal smaller.

Having more pain today, which says things still not healed. I go back to Dr the 5th. This is getting so old...

Got so much work to do, i cant get to yet. Have new massey oil filter sitting on the kitchen counter, waiting for an install. Need to change transmission fluid on honda, old honda needs oil change. Check engine light came on again in old honda, but just emissions related. Truck needs washed. Camper needs washed. Sticks need picked up before mowing season. That's just a start, wife has an entire different list. Still need to remove old boiler from basement, from pre geothermal days. Get rid of old treadmill, general repaint the whole house, redo 2 bathrooms.

So i sit in lazyboy.

Been working on labeling older, scanned in digital pictures, and organizing the backups. Found my spreadsheet of all picture albums, vhs tapes.

Fan on my NAS drive was noisy, so bought new fan. Got wrong size. I thought size was based on hole spacing, so i order 50mm. Needed a 60mm to fit 50mm holes. I installed new fan with 1 screw to get NAS working. This was an amazon add on item, i had to order $25 of stuff to get it., it was non prime item.

Need breakfast.

Take care everyone, good to see riptides pressure washing the wife. Lol

Woke up early to the rain, and decided to make coffee and finish the tax/LLC financial statements before more distractions steal me away again. 48 degrees outside feels kinda nice.

Kyle, hope you feel better. Seems like the TBN remedies may "fix" you right up.

RNG, that's a funky cane.

I've seen a Corvette towing a small trailer. So Rick, I'm afraid you're gonna have to throw that in the deal. Maybe RS can figure a way to weld a 3 point hitch on the back.

Got warm here early yesterday, but still managed to cut and split another load of firewood. With an inch of rain expected here today, won't take the tractor out again until it dries out, or freezes over.

Welding to that fiberglass ought to be a trick!

LS_mt125_owner- EMT's are a special breed of people. Thank you for your service and your and family's sacrifices. It reads like a frustrating week. You do this because it is in your "blood." Some people run from danger others run towards it. Your experience with (the lack of) mental health "services" is sadly one of many. The Federal and State governments have miserably failed the mentally ill, many homeless, and their families who end up having to "maintain" those challenged with mental illness in the community with few if any supports except law enforcement and EMTs. It sucks. That individual should never have been released. Upon admission, he probably signed a conditional voluntary admission form and then filed a "3 day release notification" form and "sat pretty" until released. IMHO the "hospital" admission staff were negligent. They could have prevented the early release by petitioning for commitment  during the "wait" and at least buy some time for the safety of the community. It always amazed me how strong agitated psychotics could become. I truly hope you get some R&R during your shifts off.

We are connected. Cyber-friendships can be just as powerful and supportive as direct personal relationships. What makes us "human" allows us to connect with each other and our pets.

Those crystal leeches must be special.

Nice gental steady rain all day so far. Grandson was supposed to have 6th birthday party here today, my son came down and brought his two boys and today they’re all sick! A friend that was coming says she’s had stomach bug for three days, I’m ducking and dodging like a cat in a rocking chair factory! No party, I love them all, but go home and get well!
