Christmas trains are the best.
tooooot tooooot
always running out of smoke pellets
When my kids were real young, I built a simple 3” high platform with four circles of Atlas O-gauge track powered by four vintage Lionel #1063 transformers, which snaps around our tree stand. I’d not bothered setting it up the last few years, due to a new puppy and the fact that four plain circles of track with no other accessories or stops is actually pretty boring, but they asked me to pull the old rig out again this year.

We are way behind on everything this year, normally we have the tree up and decorated by Dec.1, but there were just too many activities this year for that to happen. Once we have lights and decorations on the tree in the next few days, I’ll try to get a pic. But in the meantime, here are some old pics from when the kids were still little.

I usually try to have a mix of pre-war, inter-war, post-war, and modern trains on the four tracks. But sometimes the kids take over and make it all Thomas and Peanuts. :ROFLMAO:

Good Morning!

Looking at a very cool, foggy east Texas morning. Temp says 58F but feels colder to me.

Have a few things coming up today. A Christmas Party and later a dance recital with our grand daughter.

Got up at 5am this morning and had coffee, checked email, twitter, etc. Second cup is as good as the first and I'll probably pour another one on the way out the door to the farm.

Hope everyone has a great day! Prayers for our Nation!

Morning all, 24 going to 41 and cloudy, calling for up to 2" of snow.
Which lately could mean anything from rain to 12"

Key guy had to reschedule to today.
Need to get Jeep heater fixed for snow tonight
Did get tree, different place, cheaper, than normal.
Chatted chainsaws with the owner for a bit, he just switched to an Echo battery saw and happy so far. He had tried battery in the past and had been disappointed, but when his small gas saw finally aged out, he decided to try again. So far he's done many hundreds of cuts on the smaller pine and is happy with it. Seems perfect for that type of business.

We have a disney monorail set for around the tree, haven't run it in a few years though.

We married in Vegas with a small group of friends and relatives. We spent (a lot) more on the honeymoon to tahiti :)

Well , off to the jeep.

Be well,

Oh, and I finally got the outside lights as “done” as they’re going to get, a few nights ago!

Gorgeous, and boy that looks like a heap of work.

Today is deep cleaning the house before a messy but prone to compulsive cleaning relative visits. Always amusing to watch; the explosion of scattered items happens and then over an hour or two it gets reorganized and put in a place, and the cycle repeats. Despite instructions not to do it, she tends to get up close and personal with our dog and winds the dog up with screams and waving hands and then is surprised when the dog leaps on her. 🙄 I try to look on the humorous side of it, although it takes a few weeks to air out the house afterwards to dissipate the perfume and scents.

Make it a great one!

All the best, Peter

you are five times more likely to get hurt in a motorcycle accident vs cars and if you do
you are 28 times more likely to get killed. Chilling numbers for a very fun sport.

It’s quite telling that even in our small sampling here, a significant number of us have been hospitalized with serious injuries as a result of a motorcycle colliding with a larger vehicle.

But it pops and chugs for a while trying to warm up and it absolutely will stall if I engage the mower before it warms
up a little. I wonder if it is running a little lean.
anyone a whiz at adjusting a Kawasaki carb?

It certainly is running lean, and that is by design. Not much you can adjust on “modern” carbs, usually just the air bleed for idle mixture. Don’t be afraid to use the choke, a small amount when engaging the mower when cold would solve your issue.
