Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 3:45AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 64F. Winds light and variable.
Just in case you can't get out or the weather's socked in,
NASA is streaming live video of the Super Blue Blood lunar eclipse tomorrow morning.
Hope all those suffering see a quick end to their pain.
And I hope the physical therapists go easy on the missus, Rip. But most seem to believe in "no pain, no gain"...
Good luck with the generator, Thomas, and especially with the taxes.
What kind of person steals an ambulance with their butt hangin' out of a hospital gown? Hospitals aren't the most hospitable places, but most people just call a family member or friend for a ride. That musta been one desperate hombre. If you can get ahold of the video, LS, please share!
Fired up the bead blaster to clean up an auxiliary power socket on the old motorcycle yesterday, and decided to blast the parcel rack while everything was going. Turns out it was powder coated, and the beads pretty much just bounced off without cutting. I'd never done it before myself, but I hear the pros burn off the finishes in an oven. So out came the oxy-acetylene torch, and it didn't take long for the stuff to blister up and flake. That made for very easy blasting, but since I wasn't very consistent with the torch, there were still some tough spots left and they got another treatment. I'd switched to Black Beauty media before that, and while it worked very quickly, it also left a very rough surface. So I swapped that out for fine glass beads and got a nice smooth finish. We're supposed to have temps in the low 60s today and tomorrow, but if I keep the rack inside before I shoot it, and move it back inside to warm it back up between coats, it should be fine to paint. We'll see.
Got a parts shipment yesterday and it looks like there's some sorting to do on the handlebar controls. Not sure what was supposed to be on the bike, or if the right controls for the horn, hi/low beam switch, and turn signals, are on it now. What I have doesn't look like any of the pictures I've seen, and the new part doesn't fit anything I have. I'll send some photos back to the supplier today and see what they have to say.:confused2:
Also started going through the rear brake linkage parts, and should get those sorted out today. Might want to replace some of them with stainless steel, but they're pretty proud of their offerings judging from the prices being charged.
Hope everyone enjoys the day...
