The international needs work. Hasn’t run in over a year. 424 gas with over 5k hours. Massey is a 255. 46xx hours. If I remember right.

I'm sure you are comparing warranties too. Cracked heat exchangers are what can kill you in house, lets the products of combustion get where they don't belong. Sure isn't good for chickadees either. You must run those furnaces for a lot longer to keep those chicks warm, a much longer heating season than in our homes. Do you at least get to turn them off in July and August? I know you have lots of fans then, but no a/c. Think I asked that once before...when we were sweltering in the summer heat.
Wonder what made it crack. Too many heat/cold cycles?

I've replaced both on my Trane gaspacks out of concern due to age and the
annual inspection guy not catching something. Helped by a lot of CO2 detectors. They were 25 years old and I just didn't trust them.
Now I don't worry about them. My memory was about 1750 a unit but I could be off.

Yep. I’m currently shopping. It’s the outdoor gas/a/c pack at the house. 3.5 Ton with 100,000 btu propane heat. The way the tech explained it to me was this model blows air across the heat exchanger instead of sucking air across it. So any combustion gasses are blown back into flames. But it’s still getting replaced. It’s 12 years old and new heat exchanger is almost half of new heater. New furnace has a lifetime warranty on heat exchanger but old one doesn’t. Then 10 years on rest of unit and 2 years labor. $5300 buys me a Rudd/Rehm. Waiting on call back from another dealer.

New CO detector in house also.

I’m also replacing the last of my 20 year old heaters at the chicken coops. 24 total each being a mere 250,000btu. We run heaters just about 12 months a year down there(depends on age and month). Those are cheaper $560 each. L. B. White Guardian series. Replacing Hired Hand brand that local guy no longer supports.

Yep. We have a/c for the birds also. Well technically swamp coolers. They are 4 feet tall and 80 feet long. 2 per barn. Each side. Air is pulled through them at over 170,000 cu.ft./minute to provide the cooling effect for the chickens.

oy, my 50 something year old friend had really high PSA's. He went on a long motorcycle tour through Mexico, central and south America. Eating lite native meals, lots of ceviche fish, lots of fruits, many of which he hadn't had much of before. Nothing scientific here but he lost 15-20 lbs

Last motorcycling trip I took through Mexico, Montezuma was my copilot and I also lost 15-20 lbs. More than one way to skin a cat.
