Nice moon pix Don and Mostly. Saw a big moon when I went outside at 5:30am, but it sank behind a big cloud bank over towards Ed before the partial eclipse. Saw a great sunrise out of the clouds, however.

Was 16 last I looked, and going to 43. Still a trace of snow in the shady areas.

Drove through snow showers the whole way to Virginia Beach yesterday to see my mom. Had a great visit and some tasty seafood.

CWB, sorry to hear about your friend...hope he's better.

Rick, nice job on your trailer lights.

My PC is a Sony windows laptop hand-me-down from my son...probably nearing 10 years old, but I've kept all the software up to date, and runs what I do just fine. My wife's laptop is much newer but I like mine better.

Just counted 149 dove on the ground where we feed the birds, along with the usual mix of other birds. I think that might be a new record. There's slim pickin's for them now, so more bird food purchases in my future $$$.

Good morning all! Tried to get pics of the moon but would only come out like a big spot of dust on the lens :confused3: It was pretty clear here and had a good view. Thought it was gonna look bigger. Any way, 34* going up to 64* woo-hoo:dance1: Last day off... Gonna get some shop time in... Not sure what I'll do... Just gonna be in the shop..

Have a great day everyone! Thoughts and prayers out to those needing them.

37°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 55° today.

Clouds obscured the moon for us this morning.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 6:00AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High around 65F. Winds light and variable.

A brisk 50F when I went outside to watch the eclipse, and thin clouds hung over the moon. It hadn't quite started yet, so I went back inside to grab my iPhone, and got the State of the Union address going on it. I was painting a part for the old motorcycle last night when it was being broadcast and I missed it. Anyway, sat out there fiddling with the camera, snapping photos, and listening. Nuff said about the listening part, but I liked a lot of what I heard. Still haven't mastered all the menus and controls on the camera, so I have a feeling I could have done better. Considering the early hour, the small size of the iPhone screen on which I was trying to read the camera's owner's manual, and it was difficult to see the camera to push the buttons in the dark, I'm OK with what came out. The last photo on the right was taken at totality, and by that time I was cold enough to take the big brains word that the moon would look pretty much the same coming out as it did going into the Earth's shadow. So here I sit sharing this with you all.

Happy Hump Day!

I think I'll go take a nap!

Good pics RNG! I was shaking too much in the 30 degree weather.

I updated the latest OS version on my wife newer Mac. No unexpected problems of course, it's a Mac.

I couldn’t help but chuckle, I’ve had iPhones and iPads since they came out, assuming an update from Apple won’t cause a problem is funny!

I went out about 6 a.m. and the moon was about a quarter covered, I guess. I don't know whether it was beginning or ending.

That would have been the beginning Mr. Bird.

Good pics RNG! I was shaking too much in the 30 degree weather.

I cheated with a tripod and a delay timer on the shutter release to give the tripod time to quit shaking.

Just wish I could have figured out how to open up the F-stop more to capture the red color better. One mode gave control of F-stop, shutter speed, and ISO setting, but no manual focus. Another mode gave control over focus and iso, but fixed the shutter speed and exposure. And the auto focus quit working at the low light levels near total eclipse.:confused2: Guess I've got some new criteria to consider when it comes time for a new camera.
