The B2650 count down has begun!

The problem is not pushing in, the problem is trying to curl/lift. This is all loose, fresh dumped dirt and concrete, so I drop the loader to the blacktop and drive in until the tires spin, then I go to curl and have to slowly back up while holding full curl at full RPMS. Once I get it to curl, I hold full lift and I tap backwards on the HST until it starts to slowly lift, then I punch it forward to shove in and up and maintain a full buck. I can normally end up with a heaped full loader bucket by dancing on the HST lever as I hold full up.... but like anything... I wish I could shove in as I do and simply curl then rip straight up! You know... like a real construction grade loader.

The hydraulics just do not have enough power on an Ag machine to work like a skid steer will. I almost went on grabbed my buddies 16K LB New Holland skid steer yesterday, it would have taken 30 minutes with that instead of 3 hours for me with the B2650. But, I fought through it and persevered.

I have the BXpanded kit to adjust pressure with the included gage, so I will do what I did with my BX and knock it to +10% of the recommended pressure. 10% makes a noticeable change, I recommend that you do so on your BX, I set my BX at 1975 psig from the factory 1725 psig that I found it at. You will like the change.

I haven’t put my loader through the paces yet so I can’t comment. But one thing that baffles me is the b50 series loser has a higher lift spec than the standard L series. I feel like more people that get an L would be disappointed with there’s. They are buying a heavier stronger more capable tractor with a weaker loader than the b 50series. Same with the 3PH. It’s not by much but is still lower.

Would you comment on the ease of removing/installing the MMM. I've done it many times on my B2620, even on turf, but this B2650 is a beech. Following the directions in the OE manual, I find it really difficult....even on a smooth concrete floor. It seems that one of the rear gauge wheels drags the floor and will not let the MMM roll in a straight line. I'm getting too old to muscle stuff around.

This Kubota is going back to the dealer AGAIN for several issues. I've never had this experience with two previous Kubotas....most notably, I have added 3 quarts of Super UDT2 so far to the HST, and it still does not register on the dip stick.

The B series loader doesn't lift as high as the L series loader (L goes 8" higher) or have as much reach, and as you probably know, weight capacity drops with height. If you compare the two at the same "lower" height of the B model, you'll see the L has a higher capacity there (100-200# or so). Loader ratings are somewhat misleading if you only look at the rated capacity -- also need to consider the height that rating happens at, and also consider the loader's reach.

If anyone wants to scan/photograph the loader lift curves from the B model, I can overlay them with the loader curves for the L model and we can make a better comparison. These curves are in the owner's manual for the loader.

Haha, yeah the dealer mounted them bass ackwards on ya. Looks great! The stock front tires look horrible, they are so tiny that they really do look funny. The way you and I ordered our B2650 is the only way they should come.

I've gotten around 20 triaxle loads of rainy/wet dirt, concrete block, brick and broken concrete slab in the last week. I can tell you that Kubota didn't over power the loader hydraulics in this thing! Very similar to the BX25D with the little front loader, it's very frustrating that I drive into the fresh dumped mix and can't curl, can't lift and have to use reverse while I'm trying to curl, and then the reverse/forward dance while trying to lift.

Grrr. I am going to use the BXpanded kit and turn the hydraulics up 10% over the maximum pressure in the service manual. I can't take it like it is stock. I did tell my dealer to make sure that it was at the highest pressure allowed, and the mechanic says that it is. I'll verify that before I change it.

I'm at around 22 hours now, I will likely be at 30 by next weekend. Other than the Hydraulics being weaker than I'd like on the loader, I'm very happy.

This is what I do now every day after work. I come home and there are 2-3 piles.... But yesterday he buried me with 5 triaxle loads that were double stacked. I was out in a torrential downpour for 3 hours getting that over the hill. It was ugly, and I'm working the balls off of this tractor. By the time the 50 hours service is due, this poor thing will deserve it! I'm not holding anything back, break it in like you will use it!

Which bucket (width) did you get? Some of Kubota's buckets are rated as "light materials buckets" because filling them reduces the effective capacity of the loader. For example, the stock 60" bucket on my L is considered the standard bucket, and can easily dig a load of wet dirt out of a pile. The same tractor and loader with the 66" bucket struggles because it tries to take a bigger bite. Kubota calls that 66" bucket the light materials bucket. It's not built any lighter, but it's intended for lifting lighter materials. In reality, if you could take a smaller bite with the larger bucket, it would be the same.

Here's a screengrab of the Kubota build page for the B2650, with the bucket options. If you have the 60" bucket, it's indeed the light materials bucket and probably won't be able to lift heavy material like dirt or gravel at full capacity. The standard 54" bucket probably could.

You are absolutely right, I wasn’t thinking clear this morning when I posted that comparison between the b50 series and the L series. With more lift height and capacity it makes sense. That’s for posting and clearing that up.

Hey MIke. I would be glad to. I remove and install my mmm alot to use other impliments or do loader work. I am 60 years old and can do it easy in less that 3 minutes with no problems. I mow at a 3 inch height which works well for pulling the in and out. I do mine on a concrete pad also. First thing I do with the deck lowered, is going in from the rear of the tractor unhook the pto shaft. I then raise the deck all the way up Then pull the pin and rotate the left rear antiscalp wheel 90 degrees, so it heading the way you want to pull the deck. The deck will ride on the 2 front gauge wheels and the left rear anti scalp wheel to pull it out or push it in. Then raise the rear gauge wheels all the way up so they arent dragging. Then drop the deck, unhook the linkage and pin it up out of the way. With the tractor wheels tuned all of the way to the left to allow more room for the front of the deck,the deck will pull right out the right side of the tractor easily with one hand. Same putting it back on. It rolls easy on the 3 wheels. I is really a very good set up for removal and installation with just a couple steps and rolling on the big gauge wheels, there is no heavy tugging or pulling. Any other questions, let me know.

Hey Rock Crawler. You just said it in your post. It is not a 16000 lb skid steer, nor should a B2650 be remotely compared to one. It will no where near have that much power. But it is a very capable machine for its size which I have extensive experience on. I can take a regular Cat rubber tired loader and ram into a loose pile of material spinning tires and not be able to curl the bucket back if I want to. The trick is to go into the pile not spinning any tires, in 4 wheel drive, as you are going in to the pile with good steady pressure, not spinning, start curling the bucket with a little up pressure on the boom cylinders till you have a full bucket all in one smooth motion. It is way easier on you and the machine. I speak from experience as I have done it tens of thousands of times in career. You will find with a little patience and working within the limits of the machine, things will go alot smoother and be more enjoyable.

What is the 16,000 pound skid steer? The biggest skid steer I know of is the JD 333 that falls 2 tons short of that. I’ve put quite a bit of use on a Kubota svl95-2. It makes tractors look like tonka toys. You can’t make that comparison otherwise you’d feel depressed every time you look at a b series tractor.

Agreed...
I know a guy that has a kubota svl75-2 and it is a Tank.
But I think it only weighs in around 10,000
You can’t compare the two.
Skid steer has an on average a 80hp turbo engine doing NOTHING but running a massive hydraulic pump.
No pto no hydrostat. It’s going to outperform any tractor up through the MX series any day of the week.
You can’t compare the two.
I wish I had both though....
