Forestry mulcher and no external hydro cooler?

Hi guys. I have a T650 with standard flow hydraulics. I am either going to get a newer/bigger machine or setting my machine up for a forestry head made to operate at standard flow. If I set my machine up will l be smart to install a external hdraulic cooler even thou my machine is standard flow? I would definately install lexan "glass".

The reason I ask is that I see quite a few high flow skid steers for sale without hydraulic coolers and in the ads I see they are selling these machines with large forestry heads.

Bobcats forestry cutter used on a large frame high flow SSL does not need a external hyd cooler. Cutter is a "Smart Attachment". Software controls the cooling fan.:thumbsup:

Just so my little mind understands, the Bobcat forestry cutter is the smart one? If I buy Fecon or any other brand it won't control the fan thru software?

Correct. Bobcats forestry cutter is a smart attachment. It has a controller that talks to the SSL controller. The SSL recognizes the cutter when attached and changes the fan parameters. Could not tell you if other brands will work.:thumbsup:

Okay. Thank you. I gives me a starting point. I haven't looked at the Bobcat cutter but I know if it has the Bobcat name it's a good machine.

No. No standard flow cutter. Go with the high flow set up if you can afford it. You won't regret it.

What is the flow & pressure of your auxiliary hydraulics on the T650.

Suspect it would severely limit the HP available to run a mulched head

For reference 20 GPM @ 3000 PSI is 30 Hp input power
