That's better than I expected it to get, is that still the 6speed auto? I would have looked closer at the 450's if I would have known that would get that. We drove unloaded 470 miles sat at 72-77 mph, 15.3 mpg. I was pretty happy with that for a truck that is 9800lbs.

Yes it has the 6 speed. It’s by far the best truck I have ever had but it’s sitting since I’m trying to slow down and be home more while my son is young. Someone will be getting themselves a heck of a nice truck

I actually remember seeing a similar load back around 1982 at a Green Bay scrap yard. It was a total beater pickup pulling a trailer with 3 or 4 flattened cars plus two or three in the bed with the top one overhanging the cab. The scrap guy said he drove from "way up north" somewhere and brings a similar load every week. Maybe this guy or his dad.

Are you putting it up for sale? Funny, part of our rational for buying the '13 besides needing/wanting a truck with less miles was to be able to take our boy (year and half old) more places in comfort and safety especially with the big 5th wheel camper to make more memories while he's young.

That's basically why we got a camper. It started with the truck though, to take his 4wheeler more places comfortably.

The door handles on those old square bodies are rated for 2 tons of load.

Not really, I towed a similar 1 1/2T truck home (90 miles) with my 1/2T truck. The 1/2T is rated to tow 12K and this truck weighed 8K. Including my trailer I was just under the limit.
His truck is either 3/4 or 1T.

Per Big Tex Trailers 14ET Heavy Duty Tandem Axle Equipment | Big Tex Trailers the trailer weighs under 3140# and has a GVWR of 14,0000#, so 10,000 is reasonable for the trailer.
If its a 2002 2500 (it appears to be a late 1990s to early 2000s 2500 with the Cummins diesel engine) its rated to tow 13,000# to 14,000#, so 10k is reasonable there too.

Between 10-15k empty in most cases.

My 2 axle 39ft camper weights around 13k dry i.e no fluids or gear. It Has 4 40 gal grey and black tanks and 40gal of fresh. Some of the bigger ones will weight 16-21k. Best rule of thumb is every 8lug axle on a trailer camper is good for 7-8k and they are usually right at Gross weight going down the road. Especially the toy haulers if loaded.
