Great pics, RNG. Sounds like a great trip as well. Been many years since I've seen an R80 Paris-Dakar, probably early '90s at BMW Motorrad of St. Louis while I was there for service on my R100RT. Fun-looking bikes.

The nine gallon tank on the R100GS here is from an R80 G/S PD, and was purchased from that St. Louis dealership when I passed through there in '03. My buddy and I were on a coast-to-coast-to-coast motorcycle ride, and the dealer said the tank had been ordered several years ago and never picked up. Got a fair deal on it, and now it's probably worth twice what I paid for it. The next project is to get one of the two R80 G/Ss in the rafters put back together and back on the road, hopefully in time for a little fall riding.

It's not as cold this morning -5*, it didn't get out of the teens yesterday but the sun was out all day. Today is going to be partly cloudy with the high in the teens and more wind 10-15.

Making the trip to town today. The cold will keep me inside the rest of the day.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good morning all! No snow last night like the weather guessers suggested would happen. It all stayed to the north...ok in my book. A little chilly at 25* this morning, only up to 40*. Slight breeze at 10-15 mph.

Doc says I have a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament. He ok'd light duty, guess I'll be teaching in education department for the next 6-8 weeks. Starting PT on the 1st. I guess a good thing about this is I won't have to get up at 03:00 for a couple of months anyway!:D

Ron, thanks for the link. Also for the tip about Moab in August.... Didn't think about the temperature. We get hot here in August, Moab is probably 20-30* hotter!

Randy, nice job on the ramp! Great looking building. I'm sure you'll get some good use from it. Take care of the arm. :(

BEF, take care.. Don't overdo it. We forget we don't use some of our muscles all the time...bowling balls are heavy!

RNG, glad to have you back safe and sound. Sounds like an awesome trip! Always nice to take some time and enjoy life and friends. Thanks for the Moab tips

Ed, prayers for continued better health for you and your family.

Hope I got replies to everyone, have way too many things going on at once...
Prayers out for all those that need them!
Things to do, places to go.....talk to you guys later.

BEF, at least you managed the real thing.
Our grandson got the Nintendo Wii out a few weeks back for us all to play bowls. Even a lightweight plastic game controller got my shoulder aching.
Scores were 102, 102
I was consistently bad.

OH,...now
I remember...
Jay, hope your settling in after your worldly adventure! Always look forward to your insight.

Drew, as previously posted, you're making us look bad! You have accomplished a lot! Just think about the harvest...

Raining, 66°F and 1.03 inches so so.

Haircut this morning. Stop by the PO

Otherwise not planned what looks to be an inside day

Continued prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day

LS- I am happy to read that your MCL was ripped and not torn; still a nasty injury. I was having all kinds of problems with days and dates, but I am not too oriented on a good day since retirement and not having to see doctors and/or lab techs all the time.

David- How's the poor drone doing?

I failed bowling in college :embarrassed: :(

I took bowling in college. It helped some, and was fun.

LS-

: :(

I’d have to say mixed results. We were able to remount the gimbal and it worked well. Flew 2 batteries, a couple of Litchi missions. Last battery, flew somewhat aggressively. Guessing that the adhesive we used on the gimbal wasn’t appropriate and on a hard landing it popped off again this time tearing the flat cable. No other damage apparent. New cable on order and due Wednesday. Probably use a 2 part epoxy this time on the gimbal.

BEF- Nice looking tractor. It looks to be a really good shape and still operational.

I actually bowled ~143. I was part of some performance enhancement hypnosis research project. The hypnosis my have helped my bowling skills, but it did not help me make those Saturday 8:00AM classes. :embarrassed: Back then I majored in partying and frisbee. Too bad they were not credit earning courses.

Light snow is falling and melting as I type. It is still 40F.

Dave- Too bad about the adhesive. I have had good results with JBWeld as filler and bonding adhesive. Is that a Phantom2?

My last project on my build was to mount a 2 axis gimbal. It did not end well. The gimball when powered up had a Grand Mal seizure and started convulsing across the work area. No magic smoke.

The "Flying C". There is more "stuff" hanging off it now (including a FAA registration #). I bought the frame and chose my own components. I have since upgraded the motors and electronic speed controls, improved the video cam to a HD Mobius and added a TV camera for first person view + another battery to power the TV transmitter. Launching it is like preparing for a NASA rocket launch with 5 different LiPo batteries to charge and confirm/reset the flight controller settings.. I have lost count of all the crashes and resultant rebuild/upgrades.

I was watching the news and a call came through on the Comcast phone that I never use, the caller ID on the screen said; ILLEGAL SCAM, 443-xxx-xxxx I kid you not, I finally stopped laughing.

I got my electric panel mounted, drilled the hole and ran the 10/3 to daylight. Also mounted several 2 gang boxes. It got too cool and damp so I headed to the Kuerig.

Got back from PT. Back and leg are already feeling better. Got some exercises to do until next Monday. But I feel like I am coming down some kind of crud. So I spent a couple hours taking a very relaxing nap. Took a walk around property while sun was out. Now I am ready for another nap.

Ron, I hope you aren’t sick. Glad the other parts are better.
