The problem with the sheep is that they're nervous and the electric fence in a lot of places is just two or three wires. This works when the animals are trained to it and its kept hot, but not with untrained, heavily insulated by wool sheep.

The building is the open-on-the-two-long-sides barn on the neighboring property, so I don't know the exact history there. The present owner holds it as an investment and lets me use the barn and land. I would suppose at least since the 1950's, but it is quite possibly older and the wood making it almost certainly is. Looking around on the timbers used in any of the barns or houses here from that time, you'll find notches for joints from when it was used in a different structure.

I should sometime ask my in-laws how old our barns are. I know the house we live in is from the 50s, and the house of my wife's grandparents is pre WWII.

good morning all. 50 degrees going up to high in mid 70s today, cooler but still very nice.
First cup of Columbian coffee going down smoothly.

It seems that all of my transplanted lettuce has given up while the old fashioned dribble the tiny seeds in a little trench worked just fine.
Glad I have seed left, need to replant. At least it's easy to do.

Got some big sections of landscaping cloth down in garden. Much more to go. Nice to walk around and not slide on mud. Will take pics today.

Otherwise...I could make some new hills or I could patch the fencing or...or...
Job security and life is good.

Doc yesterday told me she didn't think I needed an AIC test in past, that my 114 sugar score was not so terrible, becoming a new normal (but living on Love Canal was not a good normal right?..............)but ordered it at my request.

And here's a strange one, for you Jay. LDN. Low dose something. It's the stuff they give you to get off opioids and alcohol. They have found that low doses, say one tenth normal, works promisingly on fibromyalgia and other nerve pain. I don't drink much at all and don't take any opioids so it was interesting. And apparently legal. Ever heard of it being used?

For those of you under 40, sorry. Many of us are a bit older and have similar health issues. Sharing here can be super helpful but clearly none of us want to start what I call the normal geezer conversation, and how many pills did you take this morning???

Do you have a nice view of the mountains where you live? Looks like 2-10 acre patches of farm land everywhere.

Hey, Buppies... I leave Saturday morning for a drive out to the left coast, San Fran to be exact. What's the best route for the weather ??? I know you know, I'm not trusting the weather channel...

From Missouri east rain and some storms colder in the northern tier of states. Lots of precipitation coming in from the west but raining over western ridge cold and snow the further west and north you go. A more southern route is recommended. Norther California north into Canada is where the action will be, mountain passes should get in the action as well

Good morning all, 40 now going to 54 with 60% chance of rain and fog. Rain every day and night through Monday and then starts again Wednesday, we need it. Sharpened my carving knife some yesterday, not happy with the edge but worked a little on the spoon I started a while back. Felt good to do something. Have two meetings today, hope both will be very short. Hope all are doing better and better. the boy loves it when we say that, he hates negative.

Doc visit went smoothly. 120/60 BP, A1c Under 7, not great but I take no meds, the cure is worse than the disease for me.
Arm is much better, mom left an old massager here that is a large triangle on a handle, I used it on my arm for about 10 minutes twice yesterday and got immediate improvement. Tender but much better. I intend to continue therapy today. I’m very careful not to drop it in my lap for fear of addiction! LOL

41 going to 50s later, got .04” of rain overnight.
Going to run cable to to receptacles and switches today. Need to to Sams and get the LED lights, they draw so little I’ll probably just drop a receptacle in the rafter and piggy back the lights and plug them in. Once everything is tied to the box I’ll dig up the feed and connect the building.
Note to self, turn off breaker first!
