The tooth bars have points that are separated a greater distance. The points are longer. When working in compact materials this allows you to apply more pressure on fewer points and to a deeper depth.
The Piranha bars do the same thing but just to a lesser degree since the points are shorter and closer together.
Both beat the heck out of the buckets original straight edge.
