Never got the idea that Mike was a yuppie or rich!

Just like many who you can never tell if their rich or poor!

Show of hands.. How many of us never do something unsafe, even at his age? (51, same as me)

This is what I like about YouTube, real people doing real things. The safety police and political correctness makes broadcast TV unwatchable. The only thing I watch live any more is college football, and I have to put up with the brain dead commercials and it's just about to do me in.

And for those that say "he sold out", you may not have any idea how long it takes to set up the cameras and you can't realize how long it takes to edit these videos. A 15 minute video can take at a minimum, 10 hours to edit. It is worse if you use 2 cameras. The sailing channels I watch say that the typical 30 minute film takes about 40 hours to edit.

So what if he's getting something for the hard work he puts into uploading these episodes?

It's hard not to like this guy. SKIP TO 7:49 for his talk.

WOW! Where do I start, (This is Mike BTW from Outdoors With The Morgans) Let me start with this. First I will tell you a little about myself. Lived in Pa my entire life, married with 4 kids oldest with autism non verbal. Worked heavy highway construction for years mostly as a blaster. Got to blow things up for a living. About 6 or 7 years ago the company I worked for got sold and I didn't like how things were shaping up so I took a job in oil & gas that has been a huge blessing. Anyway I own some land that joins my moms place and I recently bought more. My hobby is prettying much anything outside, hunting, fishing, firewooding, tractors, jeeps, really anything. I enjoy doing things some people hate like mowing. About a year ago I decided to start a youtube channel (no idea why) but I also wanted to do my best to make what I thought were good videos. I don't like shaky videos, wind noise or poorly edited videos. But I had a problem because I had no idea how to make a video but I learned. First video i made about firewood literally took 12 hours to edit, i was ready to smash the computer but I got through it. I try to make videos for everyone who enjoys having their own little piece of the planet. Doesn't matter if it's someone that never even sat on a tractor or someone thats been doing it for years. It took about 3 or 4 months to get to a 1,000 subscribers and now I got almost 2,000 new ones in the last week and 1/2.

Do I make money at youtube? Absolutley, so far if you figured all the money I have made divided by the hours I put into I have probably made about $3.50 per hour lol. Youtube is not my job, I have one of those. A good one.

Thanks for your videos Mike!

Next topic, The Haters, The "UN" Subscribers, The Safety Police, Let me start with this, I have always tried to give people the benefit of doubt and I continue to do so especially when it comes to the internet, forums like this, and youtube. For some reason it all brings the nasty out in some people. I don't know why but it does. First thing you need to know is if you care what people say or think of you don't ever want to start a youtube channel lol. I have been very fortunate with the comments and subscribers I have, every single video the comments have been overwhelmingly positive. It's a really really great group of like minded people. I will be straight up with everyone, if someone says they are unsubscribing to my channel because of me partnering with Rural King I'm actually thrilled! If that bothers someone so much I really don't want them there anyway. The haters are people I actually feel sorry for (Thats a different group than the "UN Subscribers) The haters think that trying to bring someone else down will somehow lift them up but it doesn't work that way. That would be a tough way to get through life and don't wish that on anyone. The safety police now thats a group all by itself, there are people out there that will watch an entire 10 minute video waiting, watching, rewinding, starting from the beginning again to find one thing to point out that could have been done safer.

I enjoy watching Mike’s videos. He helps me believe that I too can do it myself and often I learn a thing or two from him. I don’t necessarily think that “I want to be like Mike” but he and I have the same likes and believe in the same things. Rural living is great and I enjoy it. I just wish that I could retire and do it full time, every day but I still have to work for a living. I’ve cowboyed and done things that the safety police would cringe upon but by the grace of GOD, I’ve survived. All in all, I would love to spend time drinking coffee, hunting pigs, or working side by side with Mike just to talk about things that we have in common. Pobody’s Nerfect!

LOL, this doesn't surprise any of us that you have "clients" OR that you support Yuppies! Perception seams to rule today!

I wasn't trying to talk over your head, should I refer to them as clients? Customers?

Perhaps "yuppie scum" I have to belittle myself by working for?

These are primarily very nice folks. I try to find the good in everyone but as someone said earlier, people on the Internet can be a bit antisocial.
