I reset both of our cars (Fords) yesterday. They are very different, and either one is simple after I get the manual out and read the instructions. And I always forget how to do it until I look in the book.

A few years ago I made a copy of the page in the owner's manual that described the clock setting procedure and now keep that in the glove box with the rest of the paperwork. Once I find it amongst all the other junk in there, setting the clock is easy.

Good morning! North wind 67˚.

After 5 attempts I finally figured out the right sequence for reseting the Subaru clock off the menu. I see they have a Daylight Saving's Time on/off, so I turned it on and it went back an hour instead of forward an hour. So I ended up hitting the date paddle twice and scroll with the arrow paddles to, to. . . . oh, man already forgot.

I like changing time on my truck better, just hit the hour button one time.

Today is day one of Prolon. I'm impressed with the meals and documentation. They had a nifty little support e-mail:

"If it is important to you, you will find a way.
If it is not, you will find an excuse."

I changed the time on the new subaru, then discovered the daylight savings on/off setting.

This pending weather system really surprised me as to tracking. The NWS issued a Winter Storm Watch for this area. The most recent snow prediction has 9" for me 13" for MA Phil. Very interesting and tight rain/snow line possibly setting up.

38°F and cloudy skies this morning. Temps dropped to 34° when the precipitation started around 11:00. The light mist turned quickly to snow, and we have about an inch now. It's supposed to warm a bit this afternoon and turn back to rain, which will probably wash away any remaining accumulation.

We typically keep the house between 68-70° during winter months ... depending, of course, on what mood The Wife is in that day.

I'm not liking the weather report any better than New England, have 8+++hours of driving in heavy rain tomorrow.
Going to leave early and try to get there when I get there, set the cruise and be patient.
Had a great day today visiting with friends at church, then my MIL, who as always is sending me home with oatmeal raisin cookies, and now watching my sister cook dinner. Going to sit by the fire and just yak.

I don't think it matter if it's on or off. It will still be the wrong time. Also whatever you do do not go by the owner's manual - the directions are for another vehicle. ??? None of the menu screens match my Subaru's.

I thought that you are not suppose to set the cruise control when it's raining?

"This (when it's raining) is where cruise control presents a problem. Cruise control will want to keep your vehicle going at a constant speed and speed only adds to the problem. Cruise control is disabled when you step on the brakes but that is exactly what you don’t want to do in a skidding situation unless your car is equipped with anti-lock brakes. The safest thing to do when it starts to rain is to disengage the cruise control and lower your speed. Driving in the rain really requires heightened awareness and that seat-of-the-pants feel for the car. Save your cruise control for fair weather."
