Been there... Done that...HARD :laughing: tried scooting one time across the room, hit one of those plastic floor covers..you know what happened :shocked: ...went arse over shoulders. Of course there were numerous witnesses. I don't have good luck with wheeled chairs... Another time I was going to give a report to an RN about a patient. Went to sit on one of those small little round wheeled stools (kind the docs scoot around on) sat barely onto the edge.... Away it went.. With me on the floor, feet up in the air, paperwork strewn about. Of course it made a loud crash and half of the ED staff came running thinking it was a patient falling.. Think I turned purple on that one..embarrassing

One of the multitude of projects I've had simmering on a back burner for far too long is a Sinatra tribute. Yes, I am a Frank Sinatra fan. My idea was to arrange the music for a 3-piece jazz band. I'm recording the drums and bass parts, then playing guitar and singing over them ... ala one-man-band. The iPad came into the picture because I wondered if there was an app (we called them "programs" when I was a whippersnapper) geared specifically towards the burgeoning solo act scene. Turns out, there are quite a few. One I found is called Stage Traxx, and seems to get great reviews. It allows me to create set lists, link songs to be played back to back or pause in-between, and scrolls the lyrics of the song as it plays. There are even bluetooth footswitches available to control it. I downloaded the app yesterday and played around with it a little. It's very well thought out. Should work great. Just me and a guitar, microphone, iPad, and a small PA ... and I can make $250 on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon at various wineries around the area playing those classic swinging jazz standards that everyone knows.

I'm also not a fan of the Microsoft driven stuff. My Wife has a couple of devices, a notepad and a "surface", that are just a bit strange to operate. She was playing around with the new iThingie yesterday and liked it a lot more than hers. We've both had iPhones for so long now that the iOS is just familiar and intuitive for us.

Thanks for the feedback (no pun intended!). If you run across an app that displays sheet music, I'd be interested in it. From all the griping I'm hearing, my buddy isn't very happy with his Microsoft purchase.:laughing:

I did find another use for the iPad yesterday in the TV Remote app. I wanted to watch that Steve Jobs interview on the big display in the great room, which has an AppleTV connected to it. I'd already downloaded the Youtube app, and had worked it from a Logitech all-in-one remote previously. That worked well for pointing and clicking, but arrowing between letters to type was a chore. The TV Remote app lets me use the keyboard I attached to the iPad, making that job very easy. And pointing and clicking went to poking the iPad screen, easier, too. Mainly the iPad gets used for the Home app to manage lights and fans around the house, so it's nice to get a little utility out of the thing.

As far as your image, in my mind I see someone very unconventional and full of surprises. So it's easy to envision you in a winery setting belting out some of Frank's greatest hits. I just wish I was close enough to come and see you perform.:thumbsup:

I still have some friends in NorCal, both Concord and South Lake Tahoe. I'd love to go back to Cali to play again. Maybe a working vacation is in order.

A lot of problems with diverticulosis I see. So it looks like eating more fiber is needed in every source I'm looking up. That would be a plant based diet. Of course with someone that just had surgery best to follow the DR. instructions and allow the intestine to rest and heal, but for the rest of us eating more fiber is recommended.

In my mind's eye I see you as pretty well described by RNG.

I was brought up listening to Frank Sinatra. Lady Gaga's rendition of "New York" is really decent.

Don- I was surprised that my wife has this challenge as we do not eat a lot of processed foods (excepting junk meat), no processed flour products, and/or sugar. We do eat lots of fresh cooked vegetable and fresh fruits daily. That low residue diet is horrible. It seemed to me that we/my wife was eating a lot of easy to digest "bad stuff."

My father was a huge Sinatra fan and now our son is too he listens to it on Sirius everyday. I will in moderation but I'm more of a rock and roll person
