My elderly cousin lives in NY and I often wonder what has become of her. She has a cousin in Toronto and the way I figure it, if the TO cousin really wants to get a hold of me, she has the means.
I figure the bank thing is just a scam and there is no way I will click on any of their 'links'.
I might be a Canuck, but that doesn't mean I am a stupid Canuck.

Good morning all. Either I've gotten up earlier than usual, or it's another dull day today.

No moose loose, about this hoose - although we did have a lamb break loose and start running around the kitchen once Max had persuaded it that playing dead wasn't the best game.

24 now with a high of 30 today with winds making it feel colder. At least no snow for the next couple days!

I paid $2.49 yesterday, for 87 octane. How much does a LPG conversion cost? I've heard that LPG burns very clean, resulting in minimal engine wear.

I've read that it varies from engine to engine, that for some reason in some engines valve guides or seats will wear, but there is an additional lubricating gizmo on the market that isn't very expensive that prevents that.

The conversion should cost less than 1000€. I think there is a lot of variability in the price, as there are several manufacturers of conversion technology and different options. One thing is whether you keep the gasoline tank and possibility to run on gasoline. That's useful if you can't find an LPG station, but on the other hand you then have a smaller LPG tank. If I go this route, I might go for the full conversion though-- there are no shortage of LPG stations in Europe, it just might require a bit of checking on a mobile phone app when travelling to see which station to stop at. Payback would be after about two years of driving.

Then we have the other dilemma of which of our two cars to get rid of once we have the van. My wife's is an Alfa Romeo 156 with a gasoline engine that loves to burn through the oil and antifreeze, but which is newer, with ABS (I don't need it, but I feel better that my wife has it, since she only really started driving regularly at age 30, whereas I've been driving since 15), and the interior is in much nicer shape. My Skoda Octavia has a TDI engine that only needs topping up the antifreeze half as often as the Alfa, but the diesel smokes when starting and the interior is a wreck. If I get the engine fixed or swapped on my wife's, I'm thinking it could be a good candidate for LPG conversion as well. Neither car has much resale value as is. Best I can hope for for my Octavia would be about 1000€.

Then I asked how I was supposed to use my full 100 Gb data allowance each month when I couldn't stream a short video because of the frequent pauses for buffering. She tried to blame it on satellite latency, but my understanding is that once the connection is established, there's no more latency, as the data just pumps through the network.

Correct. Latency doesn't affect data rate. It affects voice-over-IP, so you talk and the other person hears you a second later, likewise also real time video games will be a problem, but streaming video won't be.

42 going to 62 in clouds today. Wind has died down, really blew and blew yesterday
Early eye doc appt this morning, hate to get eyes dilated, messes you up for hours.
Then this afternoon I plant those potatoes I cut up.
Last night I planted two varieties of cucumbers in seedling trays. Next week is four varieties of okra. Beginning of April is going to get busy, all the tomatoes and peppers go in, plus all the beans. I still see one 32 degree morning ahead but I think this area is over the winter hump.

Hope you all have a great day.
