Better than our prices. $5.47/gal for gasoline here, $4.81/gal for diesel. We need to get a van with the new kid coming. I was thinking diesel, especially since new restrictions in Germany are going to result in the used market being flooded with them, but as LPG is $2.42/gal, I've heard getting a gas car and converting to LPG pays off real quick.

I paid $2.49 yesterday, for 87 octane. How much does a LPG conversion cost? I've heard that LPG burns very clean, resulting in minimal engine wear.

Good afternoon all 42 and cloudy spent Tuesday cursing at snow and Wednesday cleaning it up. Note to self tell Mother Nature spring is 4 1/2 days away!
Ed sorry to hear about your dr problems, I had a great Doc but when he retired was transferred to a fairly new guy first trip he sat on his computer asked same questions the nurse did and said see you next year! It was at that point I advised him if he charged me or my insurance for a full physical I would report him for insurance fraud. Sad what has happened to some of the medical community.

Speaking of customer service:

Yesterday the phone rang and I answered even though I usually just let it go to voicemail. It was a gal from HughesNet calling to ask for more information about a customer service survey I'd left after the bogus attempt to improve internet service. I kept trying to steer her into just admitting that HughesNet had oversold the capacity of the bird, but she kept trying to do stuff with the modem and settings to make it better. After three modem restarts without much improvement, she asks how many devices were attached to the network. I said four, but because there's only one of me, only one is generating traffic at any given time. She then tries to explain how computers will use data even when someone's not on them, but I told her that wasn't reflected in my usage statistics, and I think it went right over her head. Then I asked how I was supposed to use my full 100 Gb data allowance each month when I couldn't stream a short video because of the frequent pauses for buffering. She tried to blame it on satellite latency, but my understanding is that once the connection is established, there's no more latency, as the data just pumps through the network. That was again glossed over, but she was out of excuses. She did offer to bounce it up to a "level 3" tech, but I'm not holding my breath on any improvement. About the only thing that made a difference, and it was a small one, was to turn off a data compression function that was supposed to decrease the amount of data flowing over the network. The mechanics of doing that are so slow that they also reduce the data rate, and that does exacerbate the problems with streaming. She also suggested I "upgrade" to the new Gen5 service now being offered, so I asked her what it would cost. My current service would go up by 50% with no guarantee of performance. I read on the HughesNet forums that early adopters of Gen5 were very happy with the service, but now that Hughes is migrating Gen4 customers over to it, the same performance issues are occurring on Gen5. I told her this, and she had no reply. But at least it sounded like she spoke English as a native, but even though I could understand what she said, it made little sense, and it was clear that most of what I was trying to say to her was going right over her head. Not sure if that's poor customer service, but the end result is that the service doesn't meet the advertising claims, and I'm still hoping for better options.:banghead:

I suspect a one and done!

I have been to GP/internist last February and cardio doc around Thanksgiving. Plus if I feel a problem I知 smart enough to stop. Probably already got my share, any more is just a bonus! :D

We ended up going to dinner tonight and talked a long time, really enjoy her company.

My gas cost me $1.189 and I had a five cents/L off coupon. 53 L is what I pumped. The stock fuel tank on a '01 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) is 63 L (16 US gallons). A few years ago I put a GenRight tank in....94L (24.8 US gallons). Now I can be choosy where I fill up.

I just got an email from New York claiming that they had 14.5 million dollars for me. The list of identifying paperwork they want is the reason I am deleting the mailing.
