In these parts, If your property is obviously not a farm or ranch and you have a number of farming or ranching implements stored outside in full view you likely will get someone popping into your drive inquiring about pricing and credit 😊.

Seriously though, my place is a lawned homesite with another 8+ acres of hardwood and brush. My purpose in getting the 425 is to rehab and maintain the place and give me something to sink my teeth into during my retirement years (already here).

I am not in a big hurry and I have time on my hands. That is one reason why a smaller machine fits my overall needs.

I would like to keep my equipment tucked away because otherwise I would be adding to the outdoor clutter, leftover this and thats from countless projects completed, started and yet to be started.

One of the many things I like about the PTs is their design functionality screams ...work me!..not .. admire me and pamper me! I had a friend in my youth who despite our mutual interest (his more than mine though) in custom built muscle cars had this beat up old pick up that he loved and refused to part with. When asked why he would respond...because it is simple, throw some retreads on her and some junkyard parts every so often and paint her with a brush..she works!

Decades later I understand.

Thanks Moss. That is what I will do.

Just last year I had to store my implement outside due to some projects that took up the shed.... the implements are noticeably rusty. Does it hurt them? No. But they are rusty in just one winter of sitting behind the garage. A grinder and black rustoleum will take care of it.

Ahh rust, one of ma natures repo men. Some dismiss it and some obsess over it. I suspect most of us are somewhere in between.

By the way. Just to clarify the change to the new grapple bucket...the teeth are plasma cut into the bucket cutting edge, per Terry this morning.

Is the tooth bar not removable? I have a removable for my bucket which makes a bucket a lot more useable imo

No unfortunately, it is part of the bucket, WF.

Bummer. My small rock bucket has them bolted on (2001 vintage).

Got a picture of the ground down tooth last night... just nipped off the tip and it was 1000% better at pushing into rocks like you'd find on railroad ballast, and helped tremendously in hard soil compared to the bluntness that they came with.

I also stepped off my pile o' implements behind the garage.

The finish mower is against the garage.
The brush cutter is set at an angle on top of that.
Behind that is the large light material bucket with the small rock bucket nested inside of it, and my spare quick attach with the 2" receiver tube welded to that, nested in the small bucket.
Those three items are sitting on top of my pallet forks with my adapted forklift backstop and extra wide log forks.
Total length is 8'.

Thanks Moss. Worst case scenario (no real storage system) I can stack em and get everything in.

I have some other ideas bouncing around my brain though. Buy or make out of timbers a rack or two to stack the implements on using pallets underneath. I probably can find pallets locally for free.

Or... grab some of my two by stock, plywood and pick up some hd casters and put together some equipment dollies. I know, Harbor Freight has got them in wood and plastic. Look very cheap and flimsy though.
