Wedge 40,
Door location was a decision made during the design phase. I thank all of the people who provided their input. For my purposes and storage needs, two boats side by side measure about 18 feet. If I had placed the 14x14 door directly in the center of the 48 ft. wide building, it would have under 17 feet on either side of the door. Thus, I offset the doors, leaving 20 ft. on one side and 13.5 on the others. Boats go on the 20 ft. side and smaller items can be easily stored on the 13.5 side (e.g. ATVs, bikes, jetskis, snowmobiles). Plus, the mezzanine will likely go on the 13.5 side since the boats will need higher clearance. Access of items will be easier, I believe, with storage on either side of the doors. That was the thinking, we'll see how it works out in actuality once I begin storing things this summer/fall.
