Good morning!!!!

A very belated Happy Birthday Drew, the crooked row might be where your glasses fell off and got smushed. At least that's what I'd blame it on...Life is too short for me to worry about crooked rows. I won't tell if you don't.

So much to catch up on.

My son is turning 8 years old tomorrow! He's a St. Patty's day baby....and he can explain St. Patrick's use of the shamrock leaves to represent the Trinity. We are supposed to fish. Hopefully catch some crappie. Why would someone name one of the best, if not the best tasting fresh water fish crappy??? Anyway, my son makes straight A's, all high 97 and above, and he has 2 teachers that share him. They both love him and shower him with "bonus" points which he can turn in for trinkets. They say he likes to help other kids in his class with their math and reading. We are blessed and I thank the Lord for him as well as all my kids.

I got some tractor time shredding this evening. Mid 80's F, and very little breeze. Maybe mowed about 4-6 acres worth around the pond. Got attacked by june bugs after dark when I drove past the leafless post oak trees...they'd come flying at the lights of the tractor. That got old quick.

Garden is doing OK, we need some rain. Rainwater is so much better than city water. Looking to maybe buy some mushroom compost dirt from Kitchen Pride mushroom farm in Gonzales.

Ed, prayers for your women and boy. Hope you find a great doctor.

RNG, I don't have a warm feeling about the spark....It should be ZAPPING across. Best of luck with your deadline on the van.

Randy, take it slow up there...don't want to have to call the fire dept to come spray cold water on you! :) Actually am happy for the both of you. Just keep things in perspective...These long talks, then comes the lack of hunger...then comes...????..How far apart do y'all live? Just be honest with all parties.

Sorry for all the bad weather up north.

Ron, a Costco run for a "hunerd bucks" might be worth it to avoid cabin fever most days.

I'm sure they will but first it has to grow...I'm all promises to them now.

Managed to brush up against the electric fence today and got a shock bad enough to hurt my elbow.
Bambi and Bunny aren't going to like that on the end of their pink noses for sure.
I did need to disconnect the solar panel from the charger, green lights flashing saying overvoltage to both battery and controller, so I pulled the positive connector apart and all was well. I need to rig up an on off switch but this is 30amp cable and awfully thick to work with. May need a standard electrical box. Considering the 100W output of the panel, a simple knife switch would do. But it's clear the controller that comes with this system can't dissipate excess power and just go in float mode like I thought. System settings default to a sealed battery, which I have.
Charged battery will go three to four days from experience. I'll let it go three days and plug it back in. Will be interesting to see how fast it goes from green to blinking green. Maybe I need a bigger battery...

Drew, if you have a proper solar charge controller you should be able to leave plugged in and the cc will act accordingly and not overcharge.

Don, thank for the update.
Was hoping for comments regarding the “food” as well.

Been a week on my own weight reduction quest and pleased with the results. In 2013 I lost around 60 pounds mostly by intermittent fast(600 calories 2 Days/week)Unfortunately I managed to regain about 10 lbs per year last 3+ years, hence my resolve to trim down again.
So this past week I took a low carb approach to intermittent fasting and dropped 9 lbs. of course that is in the realm of most commercial plan promises. I’m pretty much convinced any of the plans are “successful” short term, it’s what happens when you go back to life that really counts. My low carb approach means no beer this past week and no snacking at night. Of course beer will reappear in my mix but I do hope better snacking habits.
I got off statins about 5-6 years ago when my prescription was changed to generic and I started getting leg cramps. At the time I was just marginally in the zone. Since the weight lost my numbers have been below.
Looking forward to this weeks progress.

that's what I thought...the controller has a float setting, like a battery charger so it should reduce to almost nothing. Why mine isn't is a ?
Will read the manual (small and poor...) to see if I missed anything.

Good luck on the weight reduction David. If you've lost it before you know you want to lose it again. I lost 50 pounds about six years ago, went down six inches on my pants. You wind up with a lot of clothes...and hope you never go back to the bigger sizes. I gave mine away...
I measure my progress in belt loops. And I'm now looking for a belt leather punch to add a new hole.
And now we are all a lot smarter about what to eat. How we apply that intelligence, well....

33 going up to mid 60's today with storms coming in this afternoon and tonight.
Plumbers coming early with ditchwitch to dig water line to new garden, thankfully only about a hundred feet. That includes installing an inline 1.5hp sprinkler pump in the crawl space of the house. My first job this morning, which I forgot to do, is to install the big pump on a wood board, and then that I suppose on some concrete blocks. Need to run more than one sprinkler at a time and garden hose pressure was not cutting it at all.

24 going to 50, maybe rain, no longer snow or sleet.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you and much green and no snakes today.

Kyle, Happy Birthday to your son and kudos for great school work.

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 18° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 46° partly cloudy skies. Never made it to Costco yesterday. Another try at that next week. Still got way to much snow on the ground to pick up some of the branches buried in snow. Maybe warm weather today and tomorrow will melt things enough to get them picked up. No real plan for today. Looks like a Thomas putter day.

No Green for me today. For those that do celebrate. Happy ST. Patrick Day. Enjoy and stay safe.

Prayer for Eddie and Karen, Ed and his family.

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.

Good morning all. We are back down to freezing this morning thanks to a cold wind coming over from the east, another weather present from Russia. Better a cold wind than a cold war, I don't understand why our countries can't get on better. They must consider Britain a bad example, an empire that has been all too willing to contract instead of expand, with often inept leaders that are ridiculed by the citizens. That's enough to discourage any decent spy, they really don't need to add deadly nerve agents into that mix.

Yes, something not quite right there. Drew, I would check first the data sheet input voltage rating of the charger against the "Open-Circuit" maximum voltage output for the solar panel.

Kyle, hope your son has a crappie happy 8th birthday. Weekend birthdays are so much better than school day birthdays.

Drew, new dies not equal good, check the controller. I’m like you punching new holes in the belt.
