My 3350 with wings on the blower does not pull to one side when blowing snow on one side

Does anyone find that the wings pull the tractor sideways if there is snow only on one side? For example, if you clear the middle first, and then go down the two sides of the road for the second and third pass.

Here is a thought. It may have to do with lack of traction on the front wheels for turning. It is a rear blower. Maybe I will try filling the front bucket with something and see if that helps. Just have to have some more snow!

We finally got 12" or so of snow to provide a reasonable test of the wings effectiveness. Snow was a bit wet for what it is worth.

Overall I'm glad I made the wings. The extra width keeps the tires out of the snow when going straight and modest curves. Too tight of a turn and I'm running over the snow. The extra width aids in being able to see the edge of the blower and helps when maneuvering around (under) mailboxes and other obstacles. Even the rubber scrappers worked yet deflected when needed.

Didn't notice any negatives yet with the design or overall function.

Very nice. My blower is 6' so I don't have the same issue as you had but I wouldn't mind taking a bigger bite than I do already. I wonder though, say 10" or 12" of snow I might be going pretty slow to chew it all up. Right now, I have to slow down to let the auger catch up with that depth or more. Then again, it might save me having to make a pass.

UPDATE 03-16-19

After another snow season, I'm happy to report everything is holding up and working flawlessly. Even the rubber scrappers are holding up well and should last another season or two. I have not experienced any operational issues, such as overfeeding the auger. Really like the ability to finesse the blower around obstacles as it is much easier to see the edge of the blower (I have a cab).

When it snows I typically clear at least 4 or more driveways that are each 150' or longer.
