26 going to 49. Snow and rain missed us, too. None in the forecast until at least Thursday.

Ron, sorry about your friend.

You feeling better today, Thomas?

Cut the 6 fallen pines that fell from the big windstorm a couple of weeks ago. Was able to use the grapple to move the sections that were over my path...dragged some sections out to where the grapple could get them, and hand carried some smaller diameter sections over to add on to a brush pile for wildlife. Finished all that was needed to drive my path, but there are a couple more deeper in the woods that I may take care of today. Did a little target practice on a big rotten stump while I was there.

Need to roast coffee today, too.

Need to roast coffee today, too.

need the wind to change from N/E to N/W so I can smell it...
I love the way the house smells when the coffee is done.

And Billie, the word for the day at home, no stubbed toes...

going to be 51 and sunny this afternoon. After next Tuesday, there are no nights in the thirties at all here, time to plant.

am headed out to the garden when it stops raining with my new soil thermometer. Will compare temps in hills vs ground early morning and late in day.
for 8 bucks can't quite expect it to be wireless and data log on my pc, now that would be cool.

Sorry to hear that, but glad we missed it. I’m sure the Parkway would suit her fine. How far Front Royal are you? It likely will be late April before we get in the region.
The skylive drive is 100 miles from Front Royal to I64 (Waynesboro). Then it becomes the Blue Ridge Parkway below I64, all the way to the Smokey mts.very pretty but slow drive.

26 right now...high about 40.
No plans and after reading about Thomas' adventure, I think I'll stay off the tractor

After next week Ron which will be mild in the east temperatures look to go up and down with stormy conditions. For your area I would not rule out some surprise snow but no guarantees. Still a lot of cold air in Canada which will probably make April cooler in the east

Don, what do you think about the Heartsaver CT scan at Austin Heart hospital for $149.00 Is it even worth someone's time? My doc said he would start with a stress test.

A stress test shows heart disease in it's later stages at 70% blockage or more. I still pass the stress test, had one last summer. If you fail the stress test the cardiologist will be looking to do a procedure on you, stent or bypass if you are having symptoms. It's best to do a test that shows earlier development of heart disease. The Ct scan will show if you have heart disease at an earlier stage about 20%. it shows calcium build-up in the heart. The one thing it does not show is the plaque that has not calcified, but it is still better than a stress test at early detection. The test is worth every penny to your loved ones if you act on a negative results.

This is a slide that was shown at a seminar by a cardiologist on detecting your plaques early comparing the stress test to the cardiac CT.

We ended up with almost 6 inches of heavy wet snow just southwest of us over a foot strange storm. The sun this morning glistening on the trees is beautiful might take ranger for a spin to see what tree damage I have

Prayers for all of those in need

No plans and after reading about Thomas' adventure, I think I'll stay off the tractor

Aren't we suppose to use the adventures of others to improve our use of tractors.

Poor Thomas, the NASCAR race for today has been postpone until tomorrow. Because of snow in Martinsville. Hope he finds something good to relax and watch while recovering.

My best friend and I used to golf, after work, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, walking the course with carry bags, Winter and Summer. In Summer, we’d take a potassium tablet at the turn to preclude leg cramps. I carried a bottle of potassium tabs in my bag.

Golf cart on weekend when our C.C. course was busy. We’d still grab a banana at the turn.

I’ve done same at Ranch, in Summer, when sweating a lot. Potassium has solved leg cramps for me.

Pickle juice and mustard probably work but, difficult to carry around with you.

Pickle juice only works if it’s a sodium deficiency or the vinegar relieves the muscle stress.

0 and going to a high of 37 and mainly sunny. Wind NNE 9 mph.

I'm going to take some measurements today to see where the ideal places are for the new cameras. I am going to use one as a driveway alert monitor. Way too many people come up the driveway and we don't hear them.
The game cameras have not picked up anything out of the ordinary.

I will need to decide on a date the dealer can come and get the tractor, (It is my primary snow removal tool/toy). I don't want to be stranded without a means of moving snow. I am thinking around the later part of April. Almost always we get a early April snow storm.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning!!!! 40F @ 6:30AM. Cloudy with a few showers. High 53F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

Rain moving out this afternoon leaving partly cloudy skies, and not coming back anywhere in the next ten days. Mid 70s by next weekend. Sure hope we get to have a spring this year, as last year we were in the 90s before the end of April.

Glad you're OK today Thomas. I've slipped a time or two on the stirrup step on the Kubota, especially when my boots were wet. Easy to twist something on the way down, and we don't bounce like we used to, either.

Good to see you bouncing back, too, Randy. Ellen will never replace your wife, but there's no reason you shouldn't start making new memories with Ellen.

Mostly, I just don't understand why people insist on throwing bottles out the window, spreading glass all over the road. Takes a big piece to kill a car tire, but sure plays heck with the thin, skinny bike tires. And it stays there a long time, until the county comes along with a sweeper. Then the same people wonder why bicyclists don't stick to the white line, where all the glass they put there hides out. To you rub your tires with your fingers to brush the glass off? Started doing that back in the days of tubular tires, and still do it. Just not as easy to reach that back tire these days.

I'd sure hate to be without my RTV. I'd never pay $25,000 for a new one, but then I quit suffering drive off depreciation a long time ago and always try to find something with a few years on it. Can't imagine trying to haul gravel/dirt in a golf cart, or even getting up the steep terrain here in one.

Sounds like you had a busy day, Kyle. Glad your back held up for the track and field event. Were you replacing seals/o-rings in that cylinder? Would you do it again yourself, or take it to that place Don uses and let them do it instead? Asking because my Kubota is gettin' pretty long in the tooth, and it's only a matter of time before it'll be my turn.

I also don't understand why voters tolerate predatory practices in government. Like Drew's robot traffic ticket, or bad treatment/ridiculous fees at the DMV. I'm starting to see big jumps in vehicle registration fees come through that were gifted to us by legislators in the last session, and you can bet I'll remember in November how they got that way.

Got the mag and generator cleaned up and installed back on the old motorcycle yesterday. Relieved to find that they both passed the electrical tests recommended in the manual. At least they did after I repaired one of the test leads; the end just came off in my hand! No wonder, it's gotta be at least twenty years old by now. The felt wiper for the points cam is long gone, so I'll try to find something that'll work at McMaster today and get that on order. Than go back out to the garage and squint some more at the points, hopefully finding the sweet spot where they break at just the right time.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Good morning to all! Not bad today, going to a high near 70. Little breeze, stronger winds this afternoon, gusts to 30. Good chance of rain on Tuesday... I sure hope so, really dry here for a while. Going to wash the tractor today, been procrastinating.

Thomas, Hope you feel better today, better not even think about outside... The Mrs WILL know if you think about it.

Ed, sorry to hear your mom is in ICU. Extra prayers sent for her and your family.

Randy, don't get too nervous about meeting the parents...can't be that bad...could it?

Prayers sent out to all, have a great day, be safe.
