Eric, do the English have an alternative name for dinner, like some here in the south use supper?

Dinner is mostly used in the South of this country for the evening meal. There they call their mid-day meal "lunch".

Those names may be recognised by the rest of us, however people raised in the North have different names for our meals. Our "dinner" is eaten mid-day and our evening meal is called "tea" (regardless of what you drink). A meal or snack eaten late in the evening is a supper.

Both North & South agree that the first meal of the day is called breakfast and few things are tastier (or artery clogging ?) than a "Full English Breakfast".

Good morning. The clouds briefly lit up pale yellow this morning to give reassurance that there really is still a sun out there somewhere, though now it's back in hiding. Rain kept me inside for most of yesterday and ducks are swimming around where the grass should be growing. Only good news is that my paperwork is not as far behind as would usually be at this time of year.

Drew, I'm another one envious of your friable soil. Hydroponics would be our only planting option at the moment.

JB, is there a special form of sciurophobia that you risk developing while being tethered to Brogen ? :)

Ron, it's ok, I've now used up my big-word quota for April. :)

Drinking second cup of coffee. 34° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 37° with rain. Not sure what we will get the foretasted rain. General location is south of the MI border this morning. Heading east. But more that could hit us back in WI. Had to pickup wife at Sleep Study Clinic this morning. She is having problems with CPAC machine getting to high pressure. Test shows she can use a different machine.

Replaced LED bulb in flag light fixture yesterday. I must have ordered wrong bulbs. They are longer than original ones. Need to modify fixture to make them fit. Good indoor job if it decides to rain.

Jay, congrats on Brogan. Good looking dog.

Eric, definition was easy But how do you pronounce it. :confused3: Jay will need to decide if Brogan has Sciurophobia or is a chaser. Hang on Jay. :D

Buckeye, you and Wilson get the prize for best photo.

Drew, garden is looking good.

Prayers for all in need.

Good Morning All.

Good evening all, 39F for the start this morning, overcast, and near calm wind. Intermittent drizzle, light breeze and overcast through the day, high temp 49F, current temp reading. As I thought , head winds for 40 miles damped the enthusiasm for the century ride. While Saturday was 78 actual miles, Sunday was 41 miles so 190 miles for the weekend. Sunday's ride home started with A/c on, was turned off about and hour north, and some heat was on before Stephenville. WBS back on duty today, drizzle canceled plans to mow, choir practice, found choir is sing at a memorial service. Will warm up overnight ride and mow tomorrow.

Very odd weather this Spring. Yesterday, the temperature ranged from 39 to 49, just enough mist yesterday to require using the windshield wipers occasionally, but then later in the day, the temperature started to rise, and by 4 a.m. this morning, 68 degrees with a 20-30 mph southerly breeze. Still no measurably precipitation, but drizzle in the forecast. But if it's dry after daylight, I need to mow a neighbor's yard.

Good morning! 70˚ cloudy heading to 80˚ then the cool front hits with rain at 7pm and the temps should in the 40s by morning.

Too many big words early in the morning.

Sometimes sinuses can cause a horrible phantom tooth ache. I've been to the Dentist and he could also find nothing after a few days no pain. ???

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 5:00AM. A good deal of sunshine. High 73F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Looks like we're headed into another wet spell with a pineapple express landing Thursday night keeping things moist through much of the weekend. Then a couple days of sunshine before more rain the following week. Snowpack is still at 50% in the north state, and this latest system is warm enough to melt what we've got, not help build it up.

Got some shopping done yesterday, pulling the trigger on a new BBQ, vacuuming robot, and a set of tires for one of the trailers. All internet transactions, so fingers crossed for the right stuff being in the boxes when they arrive. Found some wasabi powder on Amazon, Jay, and will report back when it gets here. The Thyme I ordered arrived yesterday, a huge lifetime supply bag supposedly weighing a pound. All set for chicken soup and spaghetti sauce for a looooooong time.

Fussed with wheel bearings on the old bike yesterday, going back and forth between no extra shims and one giving too loose and too tight, so have to scratch my head a bit to figure out which is best. Also got the points cam felt wiper reattached, and will wrestle with getting the points gap and timing reset today.

Today I'll also put the sprayer away and tarp over one of the firewood piles. Gonna need dry wood for the tech day later this month.

Enjoy the day, folks!

Yes you do.

Especially if you have been dating for 30 days.

The question is have you released her from her past life of sadness or does she need releasing now.

26 with a forecasted high of 32. Wind ENE 5 mph. 30% chance of flurries and it is snowing right now.
Winter storm 'watch' turned into a 'warning'.

I have already emailed my boss to warn him that I might not be there for the meeting on Thursday. Traditionally, when the wind comes out of the east and it is snowing, we get quite a bit of it. We will see if the current event lives up to that tradition.

There is snow in the forecast for the next 5 days continuous, day and night. Welcome to northern Ontario and the lee side of Georgian Bay. :D

I only have a 'full English' breakfast about once a month, the rest of the time it is raw oatmeal with apple juice on it. If you haven't tried it, don't knock it.:D:licking:

Have a good day all
