I have several meetings later wife to beauty shop but not sure why she's already beautiful

And you have to remember to keep telling her that...
external beauty is just the bonus to internal beauty

coffee done, time to go pick some cabbage. This is the fun part.

At 6 a.m. yesterday it was 68 degrees here and this morning 36. Winter is trying to hang on I guess. But it's clear and sunny.

Last night I had a shock when my son sent me a picture of some bar stools he was assembling and asked if I had any idea why the nuts were too tight to spin on. The blue ring at the top showed they were obviously nyloc lock nuts. How could I have let my son grow into an adult without making him aware of such things ? What other fundamentals of life have I failed to show him ? I'm a bad dad. :ashamed:

Or maybe, like a good many youth of any generation, he just wasn't paying attention?

Good morning to all. Low of 42, going up to 67. No chance of any precip til maybe Saturday. Went out to do some last minute errands yesterday. I have been taking it easy, paying attention to how / where I walk, how I sit down, etc.. Trying not to aggravate the knee. Well, yesterday after making it home from WallyWorld, I was carrying in 2 light galvanized buckets w/ a small bag of seed started in them. Got inside the gate, stepped right off the edge of the walkway with the bum leg. There I go....arzz over heals....made sure I saved those buckets though....twisted the knee of course, jammed/ bent both middle fingers (must of been how I was holding the metal handles), scraped / bruised an elbow....but I saved those buckets!! Why is it one never has a video camera ready for these probably hysterical looking incidents? The worst part was that the wife was holding the gate for me and witnessed the whole calamity...made her get upset and cry..... So this morning, have "stiffness" right hand and elbow, bruise on right hip, and of course an extra sensitive left knee.
Had to lighten up the situation, so after a short time went out to the shop and got some duct tape. Took one of my crutches, taped it on my left side (properly placed), took a couple of pillows and taped them on the right. Walked out to her in the kitchen and said: OK, I'm ready for surgery.... The look was priceless...she laughed very hard... I laughed....all is good.

Don't have to be at the hospital until noon for check in. Taking it easy this morning.

Jay- CONGRATS on the big boy... He looks like a good fit already.

Drew- We can't believe your harvesting cabbage already, that's great. If everything else goes to plan, you sure will be feeding a lot of people in need. My hat is off to you sir!

RNG- didn't get a chance to reply before... You had me hook, line, and sinker with the April fools joke about the van...get me once...

Ronj- maybe you can get a nap in today.

Buppies- have fun while out w/ the Mrs... Don't know why you have to have several meetings with her before you take her to the beauty shop?:D

Don- I take turmeric in a capsule form, this way I can maintain a daily intake. I'm sure it's better than none.

I also think about Rip and his Mrs often, sure hope they are doing OK.

Prayers out to everyone this morning! Everyone have a great day, be safe.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
There are quite a few rock cuts South of me and the north wind creates a wind tunnel effect when running between them. With visibility down to a mile, I think discretion is the better part of valour and I will stay home.

Sounds like you're exercising some increasingly uncommon common sense, Bill. There will always be other meetings to attend, and missing one isn't the end of the world. Any chance you can teleconference in to it?

Quite a bit warmer this morning 33* and overcast. It's going to be cloudy all day with the high in the low 50's, they are saying the wind could gust up to 50 mph.

I think I'll try out the new welding hood I picked up over the weekend at harbor freight. I need the practice anyway.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 6:30AM. Partly cloudy. High 71F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Read a "news story" this morning about "officials" at Oroville Dam getting ready to use the repaired spillway during this coming storm. Quickly checked the current reservoir level, and it would have to come up more than a hundred feet before that would be necessary. Even in last year's February deluge that caused all the trouble to begin with, it didn't do that. With sensationalizing like that going on, is it any wonder that people ignore evacuation warnings and venture onto flooded roads?

Good luck with the procedure today, Ted. Hope you're back on your feet in no time!

Found a shard from the old woodpile tarp and tied that down over part of the newest woodpile yesterday. Used old rope as well, and with 50MPH winds on the way, I won't be surprised if it takes flight, but it was easy to do, cheap, and better than nothing.

Also got the sprayer rinsed out, drained, and put away. Just one more task to do before the rain hits tomorrow night, and that's to burn a bunch of old paperwork in the campfire ring at the end of the day. Weather guessers are predicting almost six inches of rain over the next week, so the ashes will be good and dead when it stops and I can safely shovel them out into the woods when it clears up.

Sorted through a few adjustments on the old motorcycle yesterday, making adjustments to the fuel tank, hydraulic steering damper, front wheel bearings, and front fender. Put it back on the lift, and should get the points back in, and hopefully have it running again, today.

Happy Hump Day folks!

30°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 43° today. After the storms blew through the area last night, the winds followed, and howled at 20-25mph until the wee small hours of the morning. Heard some things cluttering across the roof last night, hoping it was tree debris and not shingles. Too dark to see this morning when I took the trash to the road. Will have to check it when I get home this evening (before I take my "high tea" ... and not in a Victorian dress).

Got home from work last night just in time to see a white pickup pulling back to the barn. A young lady who answered a Craigslist ad for our old pavers had come a day earlier than expected to pick them up. She didn't bring any help (said her boyfriend wasn't feeling well :muttering:), so The Wife and I loaded them for her. My back is squawking at me today.

Roy, my Wife loves chimes, too. We have different ones hanging on the inside of all 11 windows in the new sunroom, in addition to the ones we have on hooks outside. I admit that I'm rather fond of them as well.

Buppies, I tell my Wife all the time that she needs to put on some makeup before going out in public ... to cover up how beautiful she truly is so other guys will leaver her alone. :p
