I have a new BX2380 and after it warms up it sounds like there is another engine running behind the passenger seat. It changes its sound when the 3 point lift is raised. It sounds a bit like a flock of blackbirds with a whistle component. I believe something is wrong but wanted to know if the hydraulics on the BX series are silent when not in use. This tractor has 4 hrs on it.

Make sure your lever goes back to neutral after the 3-point has raised. If the lever doesn't cancel and remains in the raise position, the hydraulic fluid bypasses via the pressure relief valve and will make a squealing sound. If this is what is happening, the linkage needs adjusting. The procedure should be in your operators manual.

Exactly right;I went through three trips to the dealer to find this problem. They paid for the pick-up and return.

Do you have a factory FEL on it?

Have you disconnected any hoses?

If no to the above, then the feedback rod which tells the 3 pt valve where the lift arms are likely needs adjusting.
Do not do it yourself. Too great a risk of damage.

If you are unsure if the sound is a problem or not drive another of the same tractor around the dealer lot.

My dealer is helpful and I would let him know about it. Once in a while, something will get out of production and past the dealer unnoticed. Make sure it is not going to damage internals before you continue to operate it.

Dealer came out and warmed up the tractor and put it through its paces. He said the noise is within normal limits for that tractor. He has heard louder ones. Says the noise will get less as it gets broken in but won't go away. Put another 5 hrs on it and it works fine. Good to have backup and this dealer has given me great service on the 2 other tractors that came from there (IH575RC and MX5100).

Thanks for all your input. I do not have a FEL on this tractor but will use the rear PTO and 3 point a lot.
