My kids are in college. Knoxville is halfway point between here and college, so we stop at gatlinburg area occasionally. I have fond memories of visiting gatlinburg as a kid, it sure has grown since then.We arrived Monday in the smokies. First time we’ve been back since the fire. Burn scares are still very noticeable. It’s also odd not to see all the houses looking down on the towns. They rebuilt the attractions first. Now building houses. We were there about 6 weeks before it burned in 2016.
You should take them. The wife and I have seen just about all the shows but we enjoy going back. Now with kids we go to the aquarium and the Stampede every visit. Kids love both. Once they’re older we’ll go back to the Lumberjack Fued and Hatfield and McCoys. For older kids they have a great Titanic museum. They give you a name when you go in and at the end you find out if you lived or died.
We’ve been enough that we’ve learned how the locals get around town. We spend very little time in traffic.
Will be down again in a few weeks to get them for the summer.
