Good morning!!!!

We arrived Monday in the smokies. First time we’ve been back since the fire. Burn scares are still very noticeable. It’s also odd not to see all the houses looking down on the towns. They rebuilt the attractions first. Now building houses. We were there about 6 weeks before it burned in 2016.

You should take them. The wife and I have seen just about all the shows but we enjoy going back. Now with kids we go to the aquarium and the Stampede every visit. Kids love both. Once they’re older we’ll go back to the Lumberjack Fued and Hatfield and McCoys. For older kids they have a great Titanic museum. They give you a name when you go in and at the end you find out if you lived or died.

We’ve been enough that we’ve learned how the locals get around town. We spend very little time in traffic.
My kids are in college. Knoxville is halfway point between here and college, so we stop at gatlinburg area occasionally. I have fond memories of visiting gatlinburg as a kid, it sure has grown since then.
Will be down again in a few weeks to get them for the summer.

This month's Costco Connection magazine tells you what to do with the rotisserie chicken leftovers EACH day after you take it home. On the last day it ends up in soup. :)

I might have to go back and read that. Very rarely get one from Costco - 80 miles each way, but get from Safeway when $5.

Challenge is I never have to wonder how to use and the dogs get their fair share of the pickings. Not much left for soup, but that happens too. Instant Pot makes great soup.

Quiet day inside, raining all day
Today was melon day, my little United Nations of melons

You do cover the seeds, or do they sit on the top?

I got a bunch of trays a couple of weeks ago to plant tomatoes-- red, orange, and yellow cherry "balcony" tomatoes. When visiting people here, it is customary to bring some sort of gift-- typically chocolate or alcohol. I figure a planter with tomato plants would be a neat alternative. Soon those tomatoes will go in to the pots and the trays will be empty again.

31 and snow on the ground. Should melt fast with 52 and sunny later.

Andrew, a planter with tomatoes sounds like a great gift.

Need to get an order together for green coffee beans...starting to get low in inventory. Reading through the tasting and cherry processing descriptions and about the farms and communities where grown is always fun. I also will need to roast some as soon as I finish this cup I'm drinking.

Picked up a nice rebate coupon for diesel oil while in the Kubota dealer yesterday buying filters. Mobil Delvac...$7 per gallon purchased...up to $60 back on a 5 gallon pail of their ESP oil.

I guess it will be nap time this afternoon after getting up so early. mostly_gas, I like your idea of napping hard to get R done.

Got that Gloria Gloria song in my head for some reason this morning.

Gotta be THIS one! Hard to improve on the original, right?

Thanks, haven't heard that in ages. Had to go into the living room to give it a blast in stereo.

In 6-9 months there will be a 25% chance Andrew discover's something about little Gloria that is a connected song.
If that sounds cryptic, RNG will easily guess it - he knows all about vans ...

Good morning all.

Lovely pics of your daughter Andrew. Shame about the trailer fine, in the UK you also need an MOT, though I believe there is an exemption if gross weight is below 1 ton.

A misty morning here has me waiting a while before going out checking livestock. Hope it soon warms up enough for more to venture out and quit typing earlier in the day. Usually one, occasionally two, cups of tea were once all it took to catch up on this thread. Now I seem to be boiling the kettle for half the morning. With that and the inevitable additional pee breaks, there's getting to be not much day left !

Ever visit a coffee farm? We have friends and neighbors that grow. A close neighbor is working about 300 trees. Recently finished pruning.
Coffee production is very labor intensive long before the roasting stage.

19 right now...high in the upper 30's today. That bit of snow we got Friday night is pretty much gone. Still a fair amount of snow on the field (almost totally covered still) and the lawn (50% give or take).

No plans today...

13 going to 30 Wind WNW 7 mph. 40% chance of flurries.

Around noon I will go over to the neighbours and move his snow. Then come back and move my own snow piles.

Forecast doesn't look good for all week, but at least the sap should be running again. This IS a good thing.

Have a good day all
