I wasn’t quite that elite! We raced up to 5 classes including unlimited. They used modified 250 cc motorcycle engines with 5 speed tranny, in a full lay down frame. We raced South Boston, VA, New Holland, Raleigh, Chesapeake and VA Beach.
All but pure stock were shifter karts.

We ran one gear 100cc and 125cc engines. Both single and twin engines. Classes where light and heavy. I think light was under 270 lbs.

Where did you race in Chesapeake? Ever race karts with Ricky Rudd? He was a neighbor.

19 and going to a high of 37 Wind N 1 mph. Mix of sun and cloud. A good melting & sap running day.
More snow forecast for later in the weekend. It doesn't matter, the tractor is going for the BH anyway.

txdon,
I live in the boonies, too. My garbage service is when I load up the Jeep and sometimes the trailer and haul it to the dump.

Have a good day all

No, Ricky was a bit after me, I was racing from 1967- 69. In Chesapeake it was on Military Highway near what is now the Campostella Rd intersection.

Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 6:15AM. Periods of rain. High 64F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch.

Interesting story about the Pineapple Express, Drew. It dropped almost six inches of rain here over the last weekend, most of it a gentle drizzle that soaked in instead of running off. Good for the water table, and helped keep Lake Oroville from coming up enough to warrant activating the still under construction spillway.

I pay for trash pickup here, Don. It doesn't cost much more than what the dump charges for a pick bed full of trash bags, and I don't have to worry about the stink in the summer time and animals getting into and scattering the trash bags. This Friday and Saturday they're holding a tire amnesty day at the dump, and I've about a half dozen tires from trailers and motorcycles I'll take over and leave with them for free. I'll also be replacing the tires on my neighbor's car hauler trailer, and it would be nice if he made up his mind on what kind of tire he likes so I could get them swapped out in time to take them in at the same time...

I guess I don't see the point in heart calcium testing then. Seems like it only detects hardened plaque, but it's the soft stuff you worry about? And is there a link between high blood pressure and arterial plaque? So confused...:confused2:

Little steps like that Mike show great progress! Tell her all your Good Morning!!!! buddies are pulling for her!

With two dozen todo items to choose from, Wng, there's sure to be a couple you actually feel like doing. Variety is the spice of life, right?

Speaking of tires, got the two new tires mounted and installed on the utility trailer. Seating the beads is always a challenge. One popped right on, had to resort to the starting fluid trick on the other. Never done it before myself, but a one second burst of the juice was more than enough. Lots of safety gear on, too: Safety glasses, face shield, heavy cotton shirt, gloves, hearing protectors, and long pants, and used a propane torch to touch it off. Don't like doin' that, but the straps they use to mail the tires pushes the beads together and then they don't expand back far enough to catch the rim, even with the core out of the stem.:muttering:

Loosened up the steering bearings and re-torqued the heads on the old motorcycle, then pulled out and inspected the throwout bearing and clutch pushrod, and it all looked fine. Took another ride, a little longer this time and stayed out an hour, and the clutch held adjustment pretty well. There was a fair amount of black dust in the bell housing, so my guess is there was a bunch of soft material on the clutch disc that came off on that first ride. I should be OK on Saturday's memorial ride as long as I don't try to hotrod (Drew would say hoon:laughing:) around using a lot of clutch slip. Oh, and I got the thing started in one kick, so I'm either getting luckier or am getting closer to a working recipe.

Got a call from the freight company that is delivering the new BBQ, and they're set to drop it off tomorrow. But I got the heads off the big dirt bike and will head down to the Bay Area today to drop them off, along with the transmission, for reconditioning. That makes getting back here in time for the Wednesday delivery unlikely, so I'll call 'em in a little bit and ask them to make it Thursday or Friday instead.

Not to bad this morning 24*, yesterday was nice and made into the high 50's sunny and a light wind. They are saying today is going to be in the low 60's with increasing clouds and 10-15 mph wind.

txdon... We don't have any garbage service here. And the dump is about 35 miles away. My wife goes down to SLC about every two weeks and she takes it down to our daughters place. We usually only have two bags, 30 gallon recycle bag and a13 gallon kitchen bag. Everything that could smell goes In the freezer tell she goes down. I save the bigger cardboard boxes for the burn piles. And I have a couple of neighbors that call if they are making a dump run.
So you're not alone.

Going to take the snow blower off and put the FEL and back hoe, back on today. Only used the blower 4 or 5 times this season. I could have gotten by without it. I need to fix part of the driveway and do some work on the loading ramp.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

I just had a conversation with my BH dealer....He is coming to get the tractor today around 6 and will have it back to me on Friday. I added some extra work for him to do.
So I'll go to the bank and get some more cash out, (the extra work is a cash deal).
I gotta take the quick hitch and back blade off, but that is no big deal.

We probably have the best deal for garbage in a rural area. Township adds $150 to our tax bill every year. All you can put out by road is picked up weekly. Tires are not picked up. But twice a year we have a hazardous waste drop off at township office yard.

Good morning! 53˚. got up early to see what Whipper was barking at. 3 deer near pool. Silly dog. Heavy trash day this Saturday in the county Kyle. It's time for me to get rid of those two bags of garbage and other "stuff" every three months that we accumulate that can't be recycled or burned. I have no garbage service. Is there anyone else that has no garbage service or am I the only primitive one?
We used to have garbage service when the house was full, (kids, MIL), once a week pick up. Everything had to be bagged. If you put in a cardboard box, they would pull it out and put it back in the can. No recycling available. Cost $25 month. After everyone left home, wifey and I only generate about 2 or 3 13gal bags a month. Put them in 3 trash cans (about 12 bags), then take them to the dump along with whatever else getting rid off.
Funny thing about our transfer station;
If you took one can, it's one punch on the card. 3 cans, one punch. P/u truck piled no higher than the sides, one punch.
If you take a trailer up to 5x8, one axle, piled 4' high, it's one punch. (What I use)
If you have a 2 axle trailer, it's 2 punches.

The last punch card I bought was 24 punches for $75, no expiration. That was over 3 years ago. I have taken A LOT of debris/trash to the dump.
New card is now $115 for only 12 punches....guess they figured it out.
