The B2650 count down has begun!

It's so much more than my BX it's hard to describe. Set your pressure up at the high side and likes your straddling the incredible hulk. It's a beast dude!

So, I put the 72" finish mower on today and cut my yard. Nope. The PTO has enough power in flat ground, but as soon as I got any slope it sucks the engine straight down. Not enough horse power to run the wheels while the PTO is engaged. On perfectly level, it's great. That's it.

I'm going to try to sell it or do a trade in CL for a 60".

Larry, sorry your not having luck with the 72”. That’s why I posted awhile back about my
2650 being down on power to run my rear snow blower and wish I had more pto horsepower. But oh well. Doesn’t kubota offer the 72” mid mount mower tho? I wonder why the rear one takes so much more power.

Land Pride makes a heavy duty 72" (what I have) with a larger gear box, but they also make a lower Max power rated version. Maybe the gear box on this one is taxing my little B2650 beyond what it can give?

I wouldn’t think so. Unless the gearbox is getting the blade tip speed higher. That would take more horsepower. I just can’t see it needing much more than the MMM

Makes sense. I run a 45 HP on my 72 BH. Finish mowers can take some grunt depending on the grass.

But I will say the B2650 did well to handle it at all. Nice looking with, I assume, those larger tires.

Those larger tires will of course suck more torque from your motor, which may be one reason why your engine bogs down when you go uphill with that 72 inch mower.

I'm not talking up an actual hill. I'm talking a slight slope! I'm trying to cut cross hill, and just the natural crown of the hill will stall it out. The tires cost you 7% torque, that would not be near enough to solve this.
