Yep, I guess so.
The 8 speed will work but the 12 speed upgrade is a great value for what it includes, much higher hydraulic flow and epto come with it and it also has a much higher road travel speed of almost 25 mph. If that is not enough to convince someone then the higher resale should do it.

Many posters have a propensity for spending money belonging to others, Note, the OP has located a "new to him" tractor. When purchasing used, the options menu is replaced w/ the "as is" reality.
If the tractor selection is NOT taking place at the dealer showroom, the bells and whistles scenerio is quite moot. Let's review: Does tractor meet OP needs? Can OP afford the cost? Is resale the biggest concern today? Did the previous owner just demonstrate resale value as he just sold the blanking tractor? . Does rubbing all the options the tractor does NOT possess in the OP's face really help the OP? Available options are noted in post 23, OP made a decision. I hope this tractor serves him well.

Road speed is irrelevant to me. It's the slow, the "working" speeds I care about. And I was a bit upset that 1st gear on my new Kubota with the 12 speed is roughly equivalent to 3rd gear on my ancient John Deere. Love that super-low speed when working in tight places.

Adding creep speed is well under $1000 installed by dealer and gives you 6 gears slower than L1

You obviously did not take my post as intended! The first line was the only one directed to the OP. The rest to the 1000s of others likely to read this thread to address the advantages and value of the 12 speed.
I had a few hours off today and I was able to installed a radio in the cab and change the oil and fuel filter. I noticed the oil filter has not been changed since it was new and I had some trash in the fuel separator. Break in oil..... 180 hours...... Just a little maintenance on the new used girl. I am off most of next week and I am planning on cleaning it up a bit before I have to start cutting again.

I do not notice any noise or hear the hydraulic pump whine when I turn the wheels on mine... how's the level of your hydraulic fluid?

Mine makes no noise from the steering at all. The entire tractor overall it by far the quietest tractor I have ever been around, and I have been around a lot of tractors in my day! As said above, low fluid level usually accounts for noise.
