Today's seat time was on my ATV hauling hay and spreading it on culverts on the road we had built last winter. I'm still trying to figure out how I used to stack 8 bales on my old 2WD Yamaha and go 3 miles up a muddy woodsroad with it... that's probably why I don't have that machine anymore.

Today I finished pulling up the carpet. Whatever glue they used was good stuff. A 2 foot wide strip was more than 2 guys could pull. Then I worked on reclaiming my free semi trailer. IMG_4068.JPGIMG_4069.JPGIMG_4071.JPG

I’m pretty sure this is the same brand as the one I got. I’m also pretty sure the sides and roof are stainless steel.IMG_4072.JPG

An hr on the riding mower tonight.

I watch guys doing lawns on their zero turns and they always look like they are having too much fun. Somehow it doesn't seem right that you get paid to run it. :D
So true... I never would have started mowing part of my neighbor's lawn for free if I didn't buy a Z turn!

I need to spend more time on my excavator, if for nothing else just the mental health aspect. I took out 5 trees, 2 we large dead ones 3 were collateral damage. Good fun.

Lost a tooth on the bucket prying the stumps, and broke the aftermarket mirror off my little tractor poking around in the debris. I think I'll replace it with a double jointed one made for snowmobiles, something that will bend out of the way.

Loaded out 75 bales from storage and stacked on trailer. New hay customer was thrilled with the help. He usually has to do it all by hand. He just adjusted the stack a little. Took all of an hour. True third function with the thumb switch makes it a lot easier.

Spring cleanup continues. When I pushed back the woods last week I unearthed a couple things I vaguely knew were there. A three-bottom plow and the steering axle from a Studebaker.

The plow remains where it was, I'm a bit shy on trying to move it on the slope with the little L. The axle, however, got chained to the loader bucket and taken to the scrap steel pile.

After that it was time to drop the box blade, hook up the cart, and start cleaning the deadfall from the yard. Only one branch that needed chainsawed, and the MS 290 made quick work of it after de-limbing it with the little black-and-decker.

I really need a good small gas saw. The black-and-decker is great for what it is, but it doesn't have the chain speed to really eat through things the way I'd like. Something with a 10-12 inch bar would be great.

After that, I pulled some briars with the bunch grubber. It's kind of gimmicky, but it did the job.

Little L!?! I have to laugh reading this as I plan my lil' BX activities on my slope this fine Sunday.

Started spring clean up here too. Only a couple of very small piles of snow/ice left on the ground. Graded and smoothed all the ruts and holes out of my driveway with the box blade, then switched to the landscape rake. Raked the upper yard around the house that I could reach with the Branson and the 7ft landscape rake. Then put gas in the Husq rider for the first time since Oct, and it fired right up after the carb filled with gas. Pulled the small rake around the smaller tight front yard with the Husq. Windy as heck yesterday, but calm today, so going to dig out my seeder/spreader from the corner of the garage and seed all the grass areas I just raked yesterday. Then I'll probably run over all of it again with the small rake on the Husq again, and pray for some rain soon.

You do you. I'm a bit hesitant to chain a 3x20 plow to the underside of the bucket then back down a slope with hidden drops in it from rotting roots. I can see that going bad fast. Instead I'll get some Kroil and a couple CAT I pins and see if I can change it out to fit on the 3PT. Dad said it was CAT I and he changed it out to fit the old Alis 180 back in the 1980s. And if things do get hairy then it'll make for one heck of an e-brake.

Today, just try my new Walleinstein backhoe! Work on some ditch. I知 amaze by the difference of working on a backhoe on a subframe vs a a three points attachment. Also impress by all the small detail of the design and the power of the Walleinstein backhoe.

A little bit more difficult to attach (even if it痴 a quick attach) then expected.

Cleaned out the fire pit.

I'd like to do that with mine but what a job first getting the little metal parts out, some of the wood chucked in mine wasn't perfect for sure.
I have some powerful magnets, just a really dirty job if you have to get your face in it... My burnpit has a two foot high concrete block side, also trying to figure out how to get to center. Would almost need a longer arm excavator. Which for sure is why it hasn't gotten done yet.

Ken what do you do with the ashes?

I was going to suggest a magnet but looks like you have that covered. Yeah, you definitely need to get in there and climb around. I was thinking of making the pit smaller but I just burn to much. As a matter in fact, I just cut a pine tree down for family in the city. So I loaded my truck up with as much as I could to dispose of it for them.

I take my ashes out to one of the hidden corners of my property. There.l, I have a few piles. I have fill which has some rocks etc. then I have a compost pile and next to that is my ash pile which also gets mixed in with some dirt etc.
