It would be very easy on your set up to add the 3 pt hookup. For yours, you would just need to weld on a plate with a hole in it and then slide a pin through all 3 holes.

The box scraper I built from scratch is 54" wide. I wanted something a little more than 48" but not as wide as 5 feet. It's not nearly as heavy as a commercial unit but that is an advantage pulling it with my 425. I attach it to my 425 using the 3point hitch that I welded to a spare quick attach plate. I still need to weld some pin holders on my scraper to make it a little more firmly attached.

I have a lot of gravel driveway to maintain. Mostly the box scraper will be used to level the the rough spots. It's light enough that is doesn't overwhelm my 425 unless it's pulling a full load of gravel. I was thinking of having my rear tires filled with fluid to add weight/traction.

A question about adding weigh to the rear tires of our PT's....

When I go uphill mowing/brush cutting and start to lose traction, I pull back on the joystick out of float just a smidge, which transfers the weight of the mower to the FEL arms, pulling down on the front of the machine, which puts more weight on the front tires of the machine, and I'm guessing, less weight on the rear tires... you guys know what I'm talking about, and up the hill I go.

So, I wonder if adding weight to only the rear tires would actually be detrimental to this operation, as it would counter balance the mower on the FEL arms(which is out of float, remember), and not transfer as much weight to the front tires.

I think if I ever added weight to the rear of the PT, I'd put it on a removable weight rack on the rear hitch.

Anyone care to discuss?

Good question about adding weight to the back tires. I also pull the rough cut mower up a bit off the ground to add its weight onto the PT, to gain traction. So it seems like two things going on, mower weight added to the PT and maybe a little less impedance from the mower deck.

I think you should look at a landscape plane. They need less HP and you might even figure a way to push it, altough doubtful.

There a some made to be pushed by a skid steer, so should be able to modify for a Power Trac.

This one has an adapter to push a 3 point style:

X2 on the landscape plane. Much better for the task in question. Even if it isn't, putting a single scarifier on the 425 to loosen a problem area would still put you ahead of the curve.
