Best of luck to all you ZD owners. You can't go wrong with either ZD 1211 or ZD 1511 in my opinion/experience.

And, don't forget to let us know about your experiences, good and/or bad. This TBN forum is great for product information.

Yep, put 5+ hours on it this afternoon.

I’ve used Oregon munching blades, on my John Deere Z820A since almost day one. The Kubota blades leave a lot to be desired. They cut well but, leave clumps of long grass stems behind.

I did research tonight and will get a set of mulching blades in the morning. I anticipate a big improvement in the cuttings.

Early afternoon, I mowed an area that took 4 hours 1 1/2 weeks ago, in less than 2 1/2 Hours. 72” cut compared to the JD 60” cut plus much faster forward speed make a difference.

It was dusty here but, by end of the day I wasn’t filthy dirty as I would be on the JD.

BTW, the Oregon mulching blades for 72” Rear Discharge decks, both ZD1211 and ZD1511, is p/n 396-814. Different blades for the side discharge.

Gota love that. What a great day for you!! Jealous you have grass lol.
I'll have to look for some new blades for mine I guess. Prob not Gona be happy with the cut. Wonder if Kabota makes a high lift blade for the new mowers yet?

The OEM blades that come on them are high lift blades.
Slower ground speed cuts clippings up finer.
The RD blades have a bigger center hole than the SD blades.

I’m not going to say that the Kubota blades suck but ..... well they do. Get some Oregon mulching blades and you’ll never use anything else.

We mow year round here. My last mowing, of 2017, was the day after Christmas and first mow of 2018 was a couple of days after New Years.

I’m curious if you mow with your front axel beam locked or floating? I put the pins in mine, for transport, and mowed that way today.

Float. Allows the front axle to follow the terrain better. Glad you finally got a mower, you’re going to love it. My doesn’t cut Bahia that has headed out great but once I get the initial cut out of the way it’s full speed ahead as long as I keep it reasonable

Thanks Brett. Only other thing I’m unhappy with is that you can’t fold ROPS completely down like I could with my John Deere. We have lots of low tree branches.

I may have to just remove it.
