Congrats on the new mower, sunnyside! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. You may need a plow on the front of that mower with all the snow you guys are getting up there. It's forecast be in the 20s here in the morn, but at least the white stuff is no where to be seen.

This will give you patience. I'd be itching to cut some grass. Thanks for the update. Be sure to report back after you've collected some grass under the deck.

Thankfully, I have an 8-1/2 foot snow plow on the front of the Kubota M110X cab tractor which can move lots of snow quickly. That's what I'll be doing later today when the snow stops dropping and drifting. I am anxious to get on the ZD1511-72 and mow some grass, especially on the steep side hill back of the house. The ZD1511 is heavier than the ZD331, and is supposed to have a lower center of gravity.

You have yourself a beast of a mower. I love my 1211 so you will love your 1511. Excess power is always a pleasure to have.

The ZD1511 is much heavier and longer than the ZD331 I had. I considered the ZD1211 model but it didn't have the air ride seat, and I doubt they would've offered as good of a deal, i.e., % discount and trade-in value. They seem to be moving a lot more of the ZD1211 models, likely because it doesn't have the DPF system. The Kubota emissions warranty states 3000 hours or 5 years, whichever occurs first for engines over 25 HP. Otherwise, I would not have gone with the ZD1511 with the DPF.

How the mower treating you?

Looking at picking either 1211 or 1511.

Thanks

Can't say yet since the grass isn't needing to be cut yet --- first use in about 3 or 4 weeks.

I let a 145hr ZD331 72" get sold before I could get back & buy it.
I'm considering this new ZD1511 72 but still trying to find a LIGHTLY USED ZD331 72.

Anymore feedback ?

I posted a lot of info here in this thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/375773-new-kubota-dpf-filter.html

and in this thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-lawn-garden/380702-kubota-zd-1511-72-fuel.html

Bottom line, I have not regretted trading my 2011 ZD331-72 for the newer 2017 ZD1511-72 mainly because of the air ride seat (for my old aching back) and it's far superior handling/turning on steeper hills. The four cylinder engine also has a lot more torque which is noticeable on high thick grass.

BTW: My Kubota dealer said my old ZD331-72 sold within two days sitting on his lot. Also, I spoke to a landscaper recently who has a ZD331 with over 8000 hours on the meter and has never been torn down -- says a lot about these engines.

Two Dealers has told me the new ZD1511 is a 3cyl ....

The ZD1211 has 3 cylinders similar to the older ZD331 model. The new ZD1511 has 4 cylinders.

Sunnyside, I’ve recently started looking at the ZD 1211-72 and ZD 1511-72 as an upgrade from my present John Deere Z820 with 60” deck. With a full summer of mowing are you still happy with your ZD 1511-72?

I’ll look at your other threads as well.

I couldn't be happier. Hasn't had a burp all summer after about 70 hrs on the meter. It uses a little more fuel per hour but I mow yards much faster with engine running max throttle. I don;t think there is much difference in fuel use per acre -- it may even be little better per acre. It is much more stable on steeper hills than my ZD331-72 and the air ride seat is such a luxury for a bad back. Only way you know it's doing a REGEN is when the indicator is on -- no degradation in performance.
