Good luck. To be honest we have not even picked out a house plan yet. We are going smaller though. 1700-2000 square feet at the most. I'd rather have big barns than a big house. Luckily my bride thinks the same way.
Smart move, i hope to do the same some day.

Thanks,

If you visit you may want to move afterwards.:)

Would it be possible for you to teach your buyer how to take pictures of the scenery after you move.....I have become addicted to your view.

LOL,

Thanks, I think you will enjoy the view of the new place. The mountains do not seem as close because I'm actually in the foothills (new place) but they retain much more snow and are more accessible. Once we start building I'll take a few pictures.

Good luck on your new adventure. When you say your new property has water rights, are you referring to surface water. Does it have a pond or stream? Is it pretty straightforward to get water with a drilled well around there?

The home will be on a well.

The land is on a water system from a reservoir up on the mountain, so no need for a pump.

View attachment 549608I posted in a different thread that I have retired. We have now sold our home (under contract) have a piece of land picked out in southeast Idaho and are currently moving to my brothers ranch while we build our new home.
My first purchase to move all my crap was this PJ trailer. It's a 30 footer and pulls real nice. I'll try and keep up to date pictures going of the whole process.
The land is 31 acres in Bear Lake county. It's real secluded with water rights for the whole place. Currently it's planted in alfalfa. We plan to get the house going as soon as possible and a 40X80X16 hay shed with a 50X80X12 equipment barn.
This is one of many loads going north.:)

Best of luck to you and yours on this new chapter of your life. I think you will find yourself working much harder in your retirement.

There are many threads about binders here on TBN. I recommend a ratchet binder with a folding handle:

I bought the chains and binders and have the tractor ready to transport. Most likely going early tomorrow morning.
