The guy talks about diodes. That makes no sense to me. We do global resets all the time on the new vehicles. Ask him about logic lock.

I'll ask him next time I'm in which hopefully isn't until 50 hour service (which for me will be a few months).

Morning Hillwood!

Between pouring rain and working late, tonight (hopefully) will be the first chance I have to replace the filter. Gone tomorrow so hoping to get out on it Sunday for a couple hours. Should know then!

Well, calling the dealer tomorrow to come get it and take it in. Changed the fuel filter Friday evening. Didn't really see any water come out of the "old" one but changed it anyway. Let it run for about 15-20 minutes, got dark so put it up. Had some time today to get out on it. Drove it down the drive (about 1400 RPMs), let it idle while I trimmed a yellow twig dogwood, got back on it and headed off to mow a little and it started flashing the CEL light again, revving up and then shut itself off. Started right back up but immediately revved a couple times and shut off again. Started it a 3rd time and moved the RPMs up to about 2000 and got it back up the drive and back into the garage. Not happy, but we'll see what they tell me when they come get it.

Will keep you posted!

The water sensor on the bottom of the fuel filter went bad on mine and caused the same problems.

I've been jumping into other folks' threads and venting and I apologize for that. Best to provide an update on my own thread - lol.

Long story short, our 4010 was just brought back to us this past Thursday after giving the dealer a call on March 04 with there RPMs dropping. Part of the time was them getting out to pick it up (I really need to buy a trailer), 2nd part of that was they are simply slammed with work so it sat, and the 3rd part is the issue found ended up with them have to order a part that was on back order.

After hooking it up to the 'puter and calling Kioti a couple of times, they found the EGR valve cooler was leaking water into the injectors. They ordered (backorder) a new cooler and got it replaced. Let it run a few hours and brought it back to me on Thursday. I hopped on it Saturday and mowed for about an hour and a half when suddenly it started doing the exact same thing (mowing at about 2000 RPMs and it would drop to about 1000 RPMs, idle at that for 10 seconds or so and shoot back up to 2000). It did this 4 times over the next 15 minutes so I parked it.

Needless to say I was standing at the door of my dealer when he arrived this morning at 7:50! Actually his mechanic got there first and we discussed. He did own up to the fact Kioti had told him there might be a slight chance the injectors were damaged due to the water, but none of his tests and it not happening when they ran it (plus us being without it for almost 2 months) led them to bring it back out to us. They are thinking now that the injectors need to be replaced. The mechanic was pretty adamant even to the owner that they needed to get it picked up today so he could start looking into it and get necessary part(s) ordered. Owner of course pulled out the list of "this is due, this is due, this is next, etc" but did say he hoped to pick it up today.

I trust my dealer and they told me they have sold dozens of the 4010 and have had zero complaints. I'm just the lucky one! lol

Thanks for reading!

Sorry to hear Micheal. Randy always does that "well Ive got this and that.." but then he always ends up coming. Somehow. Some way. But dont feel sorry for him. He was fishing all weekend!

What the heck is an EGR valve cooler?

Im guessing it was Paul that wanted it in right away?

Frustrating. For sure.

You have them pegged! LOL He did end up coming some time yesterday and pick it up so with that I was happy. Randy was definitely chomping at the bit to get it back in to look at it again. I think he likes a puzzle!

I'm not a mechanic but he showed me what looked to be something similar to an intercooler. Has 4 ports and the 2 that flow out and back from the injectors were what was letting water out and it should not have been. I should have taken a picture. I, of course, may be misspeaking what he called it.

These things have just gotten too complicated. Which explains sometimes the extra problems. Probably, if I was to guess and will, its something related to the emissions control stuff. Im all for clean air but at some point these little things are not a big contributor I don't think.

Hopefully they get it done in a few days. Injectors should not be hard to get.
