I have to strenuously disagree there. The FDA like all gov't agencies is paid too much by the companies they are supposed to regulate to find anything wrong with them. The same goes for our senators and reps. As long as the money flows they will never find anything wrong with Monsanto or other large corps
I truly did not post the original story link to start this type of debate or to stir any pots...

I just thought it was of concern that almost all of the foods the FDA tested showed the weed killer...

from the original link I cited:
The US Department of Agriculture was to start its own testing of foods for glyphosate residues in 2017 but dropped the plan.

The lack of government residue data comes as Monsanto attempts to bar evidence about glyphosate food residues from being introduced in court where the company is fighting off allegations its Roundup products cause cancer.

You may be right about the lobby influence : USDA Drops Plan to Test for Monsanto Weed Killer in Food

Sorry, I should have not brought politics up.

Honestly I never saw this coming when I started the thread...it's not your fault and I should have realized it would lead to more than just being about round up showing up in general food testing...

I was really thinking "small picture" and my first concern was that so many of us use the product and it could actually leach into our home (kitchen) garden produce...

We should all at least be aware...!

I am not a scientist or a farmer, but I was raised on a dairy far. I don't like the crap that is sold in stores for the most part. Home grown foods taste better - those grown without the pesticides, herbicides.

Since retirement, we grow a lot of our own and try to buy organic. Just read the label - who would want to eat the chemicals out of choice? - I like that the food companies have noticed that consumers want gmo free foods and are labeling it. It makes shopping easier.

I started baking my own bread to avoid the glyphosate in wheat products, as well as the excess sodium, using Bobs Red mill organic flour.

It is easy enough to be ill. Why add to it with chemical crap in the food? (And yes, stay away from the chinese garbage they are sending this way - labeled as organic and untested. (Just like the crappy California foods irrigated with fracking waste water- safe like ****!)

Just my thoughts.

And the eat healthy movement is spreading!

(The one I enjoy seeing is - gluten-free on things like fruit or ice cream!).

there is not a single Acre of GMO wheat planted in the US . so wheat is not sprayed with Glyphospate. You can not believe everything put out on labels or propaganda . The manufactures have figured out if they print it on a label they can charge more for it because 99% of the population is ignorant.

I am ALL for eating clean and healthy.

I am ALL for GMO labeling (not because I believe it is dangerous, but because I believe everyone should have an opportunity to make a informed choice in what they eat. And should they desire GMO-free food, I believe it is their right to choose it. And for those who do not have this desire, they should have the right to the food they choose.)

I DO NOT want chemicals in my food. But I also recognize, as was mentioned earlier in the thread, that I want affordable food which isn't rotten. An informed choice is important, but blanket laws are not.

HOWEVER, I am MOST for accuracy and data driven information. The BS put out there about Glyphosate is just that, thus far... BS. I don't want to eat it. I don't want to drink it. But I recognize its use in our modern agriculture. It has been around for almost 50years. In that time our life expectancy has increased from just shy of 71yo to current 78.6yo. I am NOT saying it is because of Roundup... I am saying it is at worst case IN SPITE OF Roundup.

I am always open to new information, however, that information needs to be accurate and honest. None of the information concerning Roundup posted in this thread thus far has lived up to the hype, when reading the background info. Roundup might turn out to be a problem for us... but thus far, the data does NOT support it being an issue. And we have been using it for almost 50 years now.
