Well.. that’s what their salesman is telling people.. it lost them my sale

When I bought my saws the promo was double the warranty if I used Stihl synthetic which I though was fair enough... been using it since which I guess was their marketing strategy... not a high volume user... 20 gallons +/- annually seems to do it unless I have extra tree work.

The part about warranty restrictions comes up all the time in the auto business where I am a State Certified Arbitrator... the burden of proof is the service/supplies meet manufacturer spec... you can change your own oil and not use GM oil... but if there is a problem the burden is on the consumer regarding service interval documentation... I have had consumers bring in cash register receipts and a bottle of the oil stating it meets OEM spec... only once was there an issue after that... but it was resolved.

I've never EVER had a carberator problem with regular old 87 octane pump gas in any of my 2 cycle equipment.
I also enjoy working on other people's equipment that don't maintain their stuff as they should.
Spark arrestors, fuel line rot, rope recoillers, trimmer head replacements and the like.

Me too until Regular Old 87, 89 and 91 was banned... can't buy it for love or money at any filling station in a 2 hour or more drive...

I have 50 vehicles and fuel issues were never a problem... only started when alcohol was added... some of the old cars from the 30's, 40's and 50's have not run since... the alcohol "Cleaned" the fuel systems from the tank forward... decades of varnish, etc... emulsified and rubber fuel lines, fuel pump diaphragms and carb parts melt...

Maybe that was the plan all along?

The only place I have been able to drive up and buy it is in Washington State...

There is nothing in the SF Bay Area Metro... really nothing any regular person can get... maybe a pilot at the airport or I can buy 55 gallon drums of race fuel

I am certain you can buy all the ethanol free fuel you want at your local CA. airport.
I use it in all small engines.
Maybe in CA., around $5.50 per gallon?, but a whole lot cheaper than (canned) pre-mix fuel.

Sure, if you feel like breathing in Tetraethyl lead any time you run those engines.

I tried to by at Oakland International which is 5 miles from here... it is sold by a fuel truck and only for aviation with a tail number and gave up.
