Tree top broke off and landed on fence. Grappled the tree top off the fence, lowered railroad ties into post holes to rebuild the corner, stretched wire with comealong hooked to grapple, used grapple to hold up latch end of gate and rehung gate.

Me and my little 1526 wacking down a double trunk tree leaning towards my power lines. First one has a strap on it, the second a chain. Had to get the big guy out with the forks to lift the trunk on the first one when I got my 60' cable stuck under it..... Lunch time, time to wait for the big storms.... [ second picture is how I get them to fall the way I want them to, I just change which way is down.... :) ]

Put a few days in after work getting a rear ballast fabbed up with mostly left over metal i had from other projects. Plan to have a tool box holder, few pvc holes for tools/shovels/rake and maybe a chainsaw holder. And a little work space. To be continued.. 1526 assigned to snow ops this morning. 16-18"... Deep enough that you put your Herman Survivors on with your jeans pulled down over the top of them. Don't even try to wear your normal pack boots. Deep enough you get to fight with the screen door to get it open. Even had my big guy out a couple times to yank me out with the hoe/chain. Next winter I will have chains on her. My 2555 has the chipper on it and the 78" blower is sitting on it's cart detached. Don't think I will be cutting any more wood today...... :)

Spread 800 lbs of fertilizer on my 10 acres of grass. Took about 90 minutes with my PTO broadcast spreader. Thing throws seed / fertilizer 30-40' wide depending on RPM.
84* here today. Beautiful. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow, so I wanted to get the fertilizer down so mother nature could water it in...

Just moved a little snow away from the barn doors today. The 3550 is running well. Last week I had my neighbor put three additions on my bucket. IMG_3893.JPG
1/2” plate underneath.IMG_3892.JPG Weld-on grab hooks are very nice to have.

Over the weekend: Moved 20yds of fill dirt for a client. Had to create a small path down a slope for travel. I thought I was over the cold but was just about spent while hand shoveling the last bucket full off the driveway.

I put a piranha toothbar on my 2638 bucket today. Works great, it pulls the root balls out in some cases. Much better than just the stock bucket.

Pretty busy Sunday with the 2538.

Saturday I managed to run out of fuel.

I was getting fuel to the filter, but nothing to the pump.

Opened the bleeder, but nothing happened. SO I decided to presurize the fuel system. Took off the filler cap, opened the pump bleeder, and blew into the fuel tank. Sure enough, fuel starts coming out of the bleeder, and 30 seconds later, vroom!

Used grapple to clear away a bunch of root balls, boulders and tree trunks.

Picked p a 250 Gallon tank and pump from CL, used the forks to pick that up and place in location.

Then raked about an acre of land I had cleared. Made nice furrows, but my land is so rocky, new rocks pop up constantly. SO spent a good deal of time hand raking.

Finished the day by getting rid of some crap I had accumulated, and final prepping the new parking area, 2 loads of stone being delivered today to put down there and for the replacement out building.

That acre is going to take a long while to get done. I figured a weekend or two. More like a month or two.

Had my little 1526 out this afternoon [ planting trees in the morning when it is still cool this week ] and used my new last year EveryThingAttachments 6' rake to clean the branches off all my trails. Also rake'd up all the mess I had by my gate when I took down the big trees next to it. Took the 5035 out and removed the mess with about six bucket loads I put in the low spots on one of my new trails. Nice day out there....!!!! Life is GOOD..!!!! :)

Pulled some stumps here as well today. The 3550 is running well. Still don’t have my new backhoe bucket though. Been three weeks since Corporate told me it was approved under warranty. I had to have my neighbor weld the old up so I could get back to work with the hoe. UGH!

Me too! I pulled a stump about the size of my pickup. Used the ancient Woods backhoe to dig about 4' around the stump, and eventually got it loose. It was too heavy for either the hoe or the FEL to lift out, and pulling it out w/chains didn't work since it was so deep (maybe 5' deep). So, I used the FEL to dig a path to the bottom of the crater I made, and once there, used chains to pull it out.

I thought for sure that, given all the dirt still on the stump, I would come up short when refilling the crater, but surprisingly it came out very smooth. I now have a car-sized stump loaded with dirt, in my yard. I'm considering pushing it over the 200' cliff edge on my property, but seeing it laying in my yard feels like a badge of honor.

I think such a big stump once all the dirt washes off it will look pretty neat.

Put the 3550 to work digging some good ol' mountain dirt. Handles it with ease. First day breaking ground on my land!

Re: What did you do to or on your Mahindra today? Mighty max.

Ravaging the woods.
Knocking down and tearing out trees with my Excavator. Now the hard part, the clean up and wood cutting.

Cutting off a stump I got my chainsaw stuck, sou out comes the max to gently pull away the stump.

Out of curiosity, I tried to lift the stump still filled with dirt with a rock buried in the roots.

I was amazed the max was able to pick it up, going into relief with the bucket about 18" off the ground.

Even with 700 Lbs of steel/concrete counter weight and the rake on the back, the rear was so light it barely moved in 2WD on flat ground.

No way I was going to carry it to the dump ground over uneven ground, so I went and grabbed my L39.

I was shocked to feel how heavy that stump was that the Little Max picked up, carrying with the L39 to the stump dump.

I'm estimating it was 1500 lbs. The Max has its relief set up an extra 150 Psi or so. and curl cylinders off a 1526.

Impressive that a Mahindra at 3,400-3500 lbs could lift such a load and keep it's rear tires on the ground (Just barely)

Note the bucket on the L39 is 72" wide, so that was not a small stump.

Finally got my home made canopy completed. Had to wait a couple of weeks for my buddy to weld the brackets for me.

Now before you beat me to death about the height of the canopy being lower than the top of the roll bar...there is a very good reason. On occasion (once a month or so) I have to put the tractor in the main garage that only has an 8' high door. I have exactly シ" clearance from the top of the roll bar to the bottom of the open door. And I didn't want to tear the canopy off, or damage the OH door with the canopy being too high. And I still have plenty of head room for egress, and I'm 6' tall.

Used a golf cart roof and 90* support arms I got from a golf cart junk yard for $20. Got a 2 sq ft piece of 1/8" plate, cleaned 'em up and painted everything for $10. And I imagine I'll spend another $15 taking my welding buddy out for pizza and beer as payment...but that comes under the heading of "fun"
:drink:

Also, because I'm in the south, I painted the top of the roof white, to reflect the sun. The sides, and underside are painted to match the tractor. Unless you're on a 8' ladder, you don't notice the white roof, unless you're pretty far away, and I don't think it looks that bad.

Works great for shielding the hot sun, and the rain run off will go out over the front of the roof, rather than down my back.

Welded a grab hook on my new bucket. Might not seem like a big deal but I have found this to be one of the most useful additions to have on an FEL
