Kubota engine oil

One of the biggest benefits for me is I now have ONE oil to keep on hand rather than 6 partial jugs of all different weights and flavors. Having said all of that, I firmly believe most oils, changed regularly, will protect your engine just fine.

That's why I use T6 for all of our equipment.

There痴 more to drain intervals than hours of use. The average CUT will benefit more from annual conventional engine oil changes than running synthetic oil for several years between changes. Synthetic oil doesn稚 pencil out with many CUT owners hours of use.

I certainly agree with that!

Most Owner's Manuals for SCUTS AND CUTS that I have read specify a specific number of hours of run time or a specific time period between oil changes, which ever comes first.

Same here. The only other oil I buy is 0W-20 for my daughters Corolla. T6 in everything else.

That may be true but it also may be true that owning the tractor itself does not pencil out for many of those same CUT owners. So why not waste a little more money?

For diesel engines if I can still see the markings or stamped print on the dipstick when the engine is cold I call the oil good to go longer if I was the last one that changed it. I have looked at a lot of used tractors the last couple years. Only one tractor which had not had a recent oil change by the way had what I called clean oil in it. Personally I find the need to change every year with less than 100 hours to be an old husband's tale.

Now milky looking oil in anything like gearboxes and hydraulics in general can drive me up the wall but not clean looking motor oil that is 4 years old in a 40-50 year old diesel tractor.

I agree some of us waste money on our tractors one way or another.

There are many hills all across this country but I have not driven or seen a tractor trailer that you drove on the governor! Think about it!

Where does Kubota oil come from? Do the have their own refinery or blending plant?
Will Kubota oil work in a Kioti ?
Rotella 15/40 works great in this climate.
It's the most common oil used in the fishing boats here and they do get run hard.

+1 They MIGHT be rated that way, (nothing in front of me as to how they are actually rated, & as an older than dirt O/O since 1974, I do not believe that), I can also attest to the fact that that is NOT the way they are used in the real world.
Engine usage is different, tractors vs truck, even farm tractors vs residential. Don't know how that would factor in oil choice by the manufacturer as they probably choose an oil that is adequate in all stages.
