I do not know the mower you have but have one big suggestion for you: if this seat is higher than the current seat is be sure how you will fit on it. I replace a standard seat on our Bush Hog zero turn mower and boy was it more comfortable but had to go back to basically the factory seat as it lifted me enough the handles would not clear ME, for backing up mostly. My suggestion is to find out how high the seat will be where you sit and place cushion or padding of some sort on top of your current seat to see how that might affect your on your mower. I do understand poor seat is terrible.
Great point, Ken! Exactly what I was thinking after looking at the dimensions of the suspension seats. I need to measure the seat height and make sure my head won't be too close to the ROPS. I know I will sit higher and I am a tall guy.

I would look at the best seat Kubota has for this mower also. No doubt will cost more but it might be better fit for height and such. You will be better off spending even $500 and get the seat you need and want than say $250 and then finding now will be spending the $500. That is what I did on our ztr.

I have the same mower (how do you like yours?). I actually like the factory seat

I absolutely love my mower... it is perfect for the tight areas I have to navigate, but I do mow some rough grass (neighbor's drainfield) and some of my lower area that is quite bumpy and really not worth improving as it is not visible and I only trying to keep it tame. Just thinking it would be nice as I age and want to be spoiled at Xmas time or ???

Worried though that the increased height might cause me to bump my head on the ROPS.

While I was considering a different seat, we took some 2" memory foam (which we had) and placed it on the seat and up the back (all one piece). Covered it with an extra large towel and tied it all down. I was amazed at how much it helped. I think the back may help as much as the bottom. Probably will give up on changing the seat now.

You could always wear a helmet... something 'spiffy' like a push-bike skid-a-lid. :footballhelmet:
ha ha... my wife already thinks I have a 'screw loose'. She would know too, she used to drive the 'short bus'. If I started wearing a helmet, that would be enough to rest her case.

I like it... a redneck mod. Would save a bunch of money. :drink:

I got the next size bigger of your mower. Spent a little bit extra when we bought ours and got the upgrade with headlights and suspension seat. Wife has a bad back and sometimes has to do the mowing. Once she got the seat dialed in for her, it really helped.

Good info. I have yet to put light on like I did on my BX. The top of the ROPS is much closer to my head on the Z turn so I wouldn’t be able to mount them on the lower (inside) and this would be exposed to tree branches, etc.

My solution is not to mow at night!

I know the optional OEM lights are in the grill but that seems quite low to be lighting up the area the way I think it should be. That said, how do the lights work?

I should check the seat height of the OEM suspension seat vs the standard seat I have for starters. I would also like to actually compare/try out the OEM suspension seat vs the much cheaper aftermarket brands but don’t really see how that is realistically possible.
