txdon; you are harvesting spuds and mine aren't even in the ground yet.

They were starting to need water every day and the gophers started to nibble on them so it was time to harvest. Record hot day for May 16th since 1925. 97˚.

Whipper gets extra treats tonight, she saved my wife from stepping on a copperhead which was right in the middle of the compass rose. it was dark and Whipper watching my wife walk toward her and all the sudden Whipper ran around and infront of her and herded the copperhead away from her. Good dog!

Good evening all. 68F cloudy, light wind. Wind light and out of the north, dropping dewpoint, sky cleared off and high temp of 85F. Men's metting to start, then bike ride, nap dinner and mow stepdaughter's place.
Drew great pics
Don, nice Taters, great story on whipper.
RS sounds like progress overall, looking forward to fish pics.
Prayers for all, and continued healing

Morning all;
Yes, it seems like spring is jumping in with both feet this year, everything coming at once.
Had the first humming birds last week and the first indigo bunting a couple of days ago;

Beautiful, thanks for sharing Lou!

Kyle, would you enjoy driving one of those, or would the sound of an engine that inherently knocks drive you crazy ?

I suppose you soon get used to things behaving differently if you can see the benefits. I didn't like CVT transmissions at first, yet after a short while I happily accepted their slightly strange ways in return for the improved fuel economy and now quite enjoy the challenge of trying to drive them without the rev counter suddenly having a random hissy fit from a slightly heavy right foot.

Don't know, but the way they quieted the late model 3/4 and 1 ton diesel engines over here was with precise fuel timing.

This years potato crop. This plus 5 gallons I gave away. Planted 10 lbs.View attachment 554662

Bounty!

Re the volcano pics. We did go up there, a friend who lives in town did, so, no, not our dog.

I believe they were OK for air quality due to wind direction and being familiar with the area 8 suspect wind was blowing away from them.

We had a very faint odor this morning, not strong, didn稚 last long.

Should the wind change to affect us, we would have to be mindful of ash. Surely don稚 want that fouling our water supply. Basically we would block inlet to tanks and open the first flush and hope for significant rain. With 16k gallons in the tanks wē could go some Time without concern.

David, I'd be so scared, it would probably straighten out my slice...Take heed, err to caution.

Good dog Whipper!

rs, the 3 fish are in a 55-60 gallon oceanic.. I figure he/she is just getting mean in their old age. :) If I had a fish tank like Ben, my last name would be Poor.

Thank you Jay.

Drew, hope you get some help to pick all that food.

Bups, I hope all goes well.

Cajun, that's why I won't sell my '86 XT 600 Yamaha...at least not until I have a newish bike in it's place....and then I might just keep it considering the memories it gave me....Mexico, continental divide in Colorado, Coleto Creek southwest of Victoria, the list goes on and on.

Good night gentlemen. Prayers.

Randy, one day at a time. It's hard to tell if there is progress healing, because it is slow, but hopefully soon the memories will mostly turn to joyous one's...prayers.

It's good that you have someone to confide in, and don't forget all us geezers care about you.

Last week, My 60 year old coworker calls his daughter, she answers "Hey Dad, what'd I do wrong now?", He said "Nothing honey, I just wanted to tell you what a great mother I think you are and can we go to lunch?"

Good morning. Looks like the plants in the garden may have had a touch of frost last night. Thermometer claims we escaped by a fraction of a degree, although it's cited a little too close to the house to tell the whole story and the sun was out erasing any other evidence of a cold night well before I woke.

Our raised beds still look quite bare when compared to those of you already harvesting. If we couldn't buy food we would be on a very meagre diet of boiled nettles and the last of the sprouting onions. Only crop in abundance at the moment is rabbit.

50’s this morning heading to 70. Need to get first mowing of the season done. Rain coming off and on the next couple days. Not sure if I will be able as I was moving some sheet rock Saturday and something in my arm went rip,rip,rip. Trip to ER and they say soft tissue trauma no use of arm two weeks. Will be trying one handed driving. Wish I had rear mower on the Kubota, that has power steering. Oh well. Best wishes for all!

65 degrees going for a high of 91. Yesterday, I mowed the yard, stopped about 6 times to empty the grass catcher and the last time, the EGO mower would not restart. That has happened before, but after a couple of tries, it restarted. This time, I tried everything I could think of and it wouldn't start. I pushed it around to the other side of the house, tried one more time and it started. However I had to let go of it to put the bagger back on, then it wouldn't start again. So I took it to the dealer from whom I bought it, and of course it started just fine there. So I left it for them to try to find the problem. I hate intermittent problems with equipment.

Good morning all, 65 this morning going to 74 with heavy rain. Guess it will weigh more than 8.34 lbs per gal. ??? Hope to get the LA145 running today. Cleaned the carb but must have missed something as it is still not getting fuel. Hate to fool with it as gas smell gives wife a headache and the only place i have to work is the attached garage. Might have to wait for a sunny day.

Prayers for all, special prayers for RS, LS, and Buppies. Have a great day. Ed
