BX2370
Howdy. I'm new here and would appreciate some opinions. I'm looking at a BX2370, brand new from a dealer and taking advantage of the 0% financing they're offering. Includes 2 year bumper to bumper and 6 year drive train warranty. The tractor will include a loader and a 54" mowing deck. Price quoted, out the door including taxes is $15,600. Thoughts? Fair price?

Thanks!

:welcome:
To TBN Ranger. You have come to the right place as we love to spend other people's money.

Did you go to Kubota's site and build the model including the implements your are talking about? By building it at the site you will know the list price and can go from there.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I did but that "build" option is only for the BX2380. I'm looking at a BX2370 (2017) model. There are 3 main differences in the 70 vs 80 series:
1. Tilt steering wheel
2. Easy release loader (you don't have to get off the tractor)
3. One of the control handles is better placed allowing you to mount/dismount the tractor from either side.

Those are all nice features, but they really don't mean a lot to me if I'm saving substantial bucks.

Thanks again!

Not sure where you are located, but that seems a little high to me for where I live. I bought a BX2370 and later traded it for a BX2380. Most say if you build your own on the website, then knock off 13% from that msrp, you're in the neighborhood of a really good deal. I've found that be about right for me. You could build the 2380 and take 13% off, then see if there is significant savings from there for the 2370 you are being quoted. It seems to me that when I bought my 2370 (which was probably 4.5 years ago), I paid about $1,500 less than what you are being quoted for the same basis and mine was a 60" mowing deck. I also had other add-ons like a grapple; third function valve for the grapple, the nice tiller (RCR1250) and a used rotary cutter for about 19k total. Granted, that was 4 years ago. I can't remember for sure, but I think in my area, I could get a little better price.

However, in some areas, I've heard that Kubota dealers command more of a premium than other areas. YMMV.

Thanks. Yes, I've already gotten a quote on the 2380 for $230 less than this dealer is quoting me on the 2370. I'm going to present him with that news very shortly and see how he responds. ;-) Thanks again for the tip!

I paid $10,006 ($167.74 x 60 0 down 0% int including 6% Ky State sales tax) for a BX2370-1 MMM plumbed for FEL last year vs the unplumbed BX2380 for near the same money. The new features vs savings were not worth it to me and I have owned/bought a few Kubotas. All dealers pay the same price to Kubota for them. The BX2370 vs BX2380 equipped the same should be around $1000 to $1500 apart, old model cheaper.

In 2014, I paid $15K for a 2370 w/ 60” deck and loader. My dealer is always on the high side when I see what others pay on this forum.

Thanks everyone. I got the dealer down to $14,568 before taxes - with loader and standard 54" mowing deck on the 2380. That was as good as I could get and I called 6 dealers. Assuming they approve the credit app, I should take delivery early next week. I'm putting her to work right away on my 5 acres and 1200 foot gravel lane.

That's a good deal, I paid $14,750 for my BX2380 with the same loader and standard 54" deck. I have about 38 hours on mine now, here are some observations and comparisons vs my larger B2920.

1. You WILL need ballast to counterbalance the loader. I have turf tires, unfilled. I was moving some top soil recently and rolled down a small hill OUT OF CONTROL on the front tires. Scary no brakes no reverse rear tires off the ground, you pick up speed really fast. Fortunately it was a small hill but dang talk about pucker factor. My old B2920 had much larger rear tires and they were filled with 400lbs of liquid so I never needed rear ballast. Consider rear ballast a must on the BX2380.

2. Keep an eye on that 4 line loader hydraulic coupler block, mine is now leaking. I leaks down onto the rubber foot pad for your right foot, hydraulic oil and tennis shoes a slippery combination, a safety issue imo. I get that Kubota was trying to invent a quick connect for those 4 lines, but the design is stupid and leaking at 36 hours is pretty lame. I had individual connectors on my B2920 and never had a problem. I had read that other guys were having issues with this, mine was dry until this weekend just started leaking a couple days ago when I started working with the FEL moving top soil. Seems to leak when the FEL is under load, not so much when the FEL is empty.

3. Drive it around for a few minutes then check your front axle oil level, mine was delivered 1/2 a quarter low.

4. If you are driving across a side slope, left side low, right side high, and hear a very disturbing metallic chunking that vibrates the whole tractor like the front axle is about to explode...don't worry. There is a metal bracket that keeps the engine from leaning too far left on its engine mounts, on a left downhill slope the engine leans left and this bracket starts banging on the frame as the engine jiggles. The steeper the left slope the harder it bangs. This was starting to freak me out until I finally read what the issue was. Hence me checking my front axle oil. Lame design flaw imo.

5. If you lift your foot off the treadle pedal the tractor should come to a stop, not continue driving forward under power. Mine doesn't, its an issue that apparently spans several years of the BX line. There is now an adjustment for this up under the right rear fender. I have yet to crawl under there to deal with it. On previous BX models apparently it was a real chore to resolve this issue.

6. The throttle lever is under spring pressure, the higher the throttle the more return spring pressure there is. The issue is the factory didn't adjust this correctly, its loose, so you advance the throttle and the spring pulls the throttle back down to lower RPM's. You notice this mostly at full throttle when mowing. If you remove the screen below the steering wheel you will see there are 2 jam nuts that adjust the friction of the throttle lever. I tightened mine, it held for a while but now its getting loose again. Some guys with this issue replaced the jam nuts with a nylon lock nut and that solved the problem.

7. Check your coolant level, mine was delivered a bit low. It only holds 3 quarts of antifreeze so best to keep it full.

8. Unlike my B2920 this BX2380 is REALLY LOUD, the issue is tractor noise/vibration is picked up in the hollow ROPS tubing and the ROPS act like two stereo speakers right next to your ears amplifying this. I read where some guys have filled the ROPS tubing with sand or expanding spray foam.

Okay with the issues out of the way lets talk about some good stuff.

Land Pride QH10 quick hitch, awesome!! Having wrestled implements on/off B2920 this quick hitch is a real time saver. Do NOT buy the smaller QH05, first the QH10 is WAY more heavy duty I think the capacity difference is like 600lbs vs 2,000 lbs. But more importantly the Kubota suitcase weights will not fit the QH05. That U shape bent tubing on the QH05 is in the way of the front of the suitcase weights.

Heavy Hitch Weight Bar, awesome!! This is the taller one for the Kubota suitcase weights. Really nice quality on the welding, could not be happier.

Heavy Hitch mobile cart, super awesome!! I recently had to install/remove my weights a few times, so quick and easy with this cart. Rolls the near 500lbs around the garage with ease. The entire Heavy Hitch weight bar with weights attach to the mobile cart, just lower off the quick hitch and roll away as one unit.

Thanks for all the great tips! I had the dealer switch out the turf tires for the R4's and they're filled. My little 1972 JD 140 H3 quit on me last Thursday and I picked up the 2380 Saturday. I've put a little over 8 hours on it and just tucked it away in the shed. I've done about 2 months worth of Saturdays work in those 8 hours. Mowed my lawn, mowed my son in law's lawn and 2 fields. Moved about a dozen unsightly stumps that have been laying around the property for years and dug 2 small stumps and moved them. I also used the FEL to rough grade a very rocky area in one of my fields and moved most of the rock. Moved another pile of rock I'm going to use for some landscaping. I'm absolutely amazed at what I've been able to accomplish with this tractor. And, of course, my grandson just had to sit on it with Grandpa before I started my work!
