Little sadness today, along with some joy. My daughter and son in law that have been working on one of the Gravelys hauled it away today (sad to see it go, happy it is going to be used). The hydraulic leaks on loader are all fixed.. needs some TLC otherwise and they will have to figure out gas tank leak and carb float does not shutoff completely. They were anxious to get going so they can use it some tomorrow. I'll give them tow behind sprayer and a bunch of other implements and such.

Good evening all. 75F for the start, thunderstorms in the area overnight trace in the rain gauge. Sky dcleared up in the afternoon, wind out of south gusts to 17-20 mph and high temp of 95F. Men's meeting this morning, then trip to Sherman for trip items, bike ride weed eat. More trip prep this evening, getting batteries charged clothes cleaned and the like. Still need to clean chain and adjust brakes before trip.
Buckeye, that axle housing looks cleaner than the one I had after 500 hours. Nice work
Thomas good to hear you have water :drink:
Drew I think you won the potato contest!
RNG good luck on next project.
Prayers for all

Also looks like road construction season is officially open. IDOT is out in force this week, digging holes in perfectly good pavement. One area on I-64 near Shiloh IL has traffic backed up for about 5 miles every afternoon. I hopped off the interstate yesterday to grab a bite to eat on the way home, and to go around some of the backup. In all, it took me 2 hours to get home from work yesterday. Going to be one of those summers, I suppose.

Appreciate the comments, guys. My Wife is way better to me than I deserve. Artist, musician, seamstress, cook, loves tools, plays golf, loves motorcycles, ... and easy on the eye. She's definitely a keeper.

Sorry about your commute...You picked an awesome wife! (Can she type too?) Just kidding.....hope your smiling right now... :)

Busy guy you are...How far to Sherman? I'm still trying to figure out how so many golfers hit balls in your yard?? I knew a guy who would go out at night onto the course's water hazards, wade in chest deep and feel for balls with his bare feet. He'd sometimes get a potato sized bag full.

Drew, that hose failed due to the kink.

Drew, that hose failed due to the kink.

I agree. They ran it down under and around instead of straight, which put an oem bend in the line.
Just don't understand why they use hose clamps on the output of a high pressure pump, other than saving a dollar or two for better hoses

Roy, glad you got some rest.

sixties going up to 80's, clear nice day.
Will be outside all day mowing and fixing.
Always something to fix...

58 going to 81...last day of October like low humidity

Stayed windy yesterday, so took sprayer rig off the 3 point hitch and put the bush hog back on and did some cutting. Ran a couple of rabbits out...hope no nests...Drew that was rabbit scat. Prediction is for calm wind today, so back to the sprayer.

Picked up a $9.99 hard hat yesterday...couldn't find mine from a job many years ago...probably tossed it. I have to wear a hard hat and safety vest to buy gravel from the local quarry. I remember when I first moved here in the 80's, and the quarry was locally owned, I could drive my little old Toyota pickup in and overload it with 2,500 pounds for $4.50...slowly driving the 5 miles home. It will be interesting to see what a ton or more costs now.

Good morning all. 51 with some fog, going to 80 and sunny. They should have the HP up and running before we hit 80 if they don't run into any problems. No plans much for today, but do need to mow.

Drew, on one of the Andy Griffith shows they had the potato queen give a potato to the Governor. She wore a crown with spikes setting up all around with potatoes on the spikes. Someone needs to make you a Potato King crown.

Hope everyone is doing well, prayers sent for those who are not. Ed

Billy, thank you. Rabbits in the garden. But they haven't eaten anything.
Yet
maybe a scouting mission and they announce their presence
by taking a dump on my walkway.
not too smart...
Maybe I should put food out in another location?
never did fix the fence, obviously...guess that is number one on the to do list today.

I see rabbits run around my back yard all the time.
cute as can be
Just wish it was a carnivore instead of a vegan...

Hmmm. Maybe PJ's wife needs to work on this creation:
white potatoes
white fingerlings
red potatoes
dark blue potatoes

now what colors does that remind you of?
gosh what a Fourth of July decoration that could make :dance1:

assuming I had any artistic ability...anyone want to design a patriotic potato flag?

I'm digging them all up today. Will lay out the "materials" cleaned up with representative sizes.
Maybe Don should design this, he sure has the talent.

or....a patriotic potato tractor?
only here...............

Oh great, we have thought of another creature to bite us.:D

Last day on the big place ready to do the serious downsize. 99% moved. Whipper chased cows on demand for the last time last night. Too bad she does not understand I want to explain it to her. Gray two walked into the empty house last night and did several double takes and finally laid down right where he always laid on the floor where the ottoman used to be.

The moving company's 3 bucks did a fantastic job. I knew I could relax when they padded the door way and then tied quilts and plastic wrap around each piece of furniture. They had our stuff moved in 6 hours and that included 1.5 hours driving time. A very stress free move. If anyone in Central Texas is making a move Einstein Moving company out of Austin is the one to use.

On this last half day we will make the place sparkle again like we did for the showing and leave a few goodies for the new owners - beer, flowers, and an antique bottle I found on the place here. It's a coke-a-cola bottle (bottled in Giddings Texas) with Giddings engraved in the glass.

Then we start on our new adventure. . . .

I can visualize a patriotic potato salad for a July 4th picnic . . .

Hope 15 new golf balls will get me thru 18 holes. I'm assuming i won't lose one on the par 3s. Maybe i should take another sleave. At least there are no houses to hit.
