Just bumping the thread;

After an exhausting search we nailed down a home building contractor. PERC test will be next week and within a week we should have our building permit. I expect the hole to be dug within 2 weeks. Pictures will follow for sure. The cost was more than I wanted to pay but the builder had a home in the "Parade of Homes" and he builds a very nice home. Both my wife and I are very comfortable with our choice.

If the weather is good I'll also be cutting my hay next week. I'll post some pictures of that in the "Haying" thread.

I would say the best litmus test is if you and your builder are still cordial at the end.

Hope it goes great, and you have a good hay crop too.

Great, cant wait to see floorplan.

You have to wait year plus here just for perk test. They only do them in spring, and you have to make the list. Usually land is sold already perked.

This will be our 3rd new home. I have it down to a science; just let my wife make all the decisions. :laughing:

My wife and I are really easy going people. Usually show up with some cookies or a coke and the contractors will bend over backwards to please us.

The hay looks really good at this point. Wanted to cut next week, I think the weather may have different plans. (Mother Nature doesn't like cookies or Coke)

I was going to ask you if you are going to miss the inversions this coming winter? The SLC chamber of commerce did say anything about them when I moved there in 86.

The inversions are the primary reason that we moved. The longer it lasted the worse my breathing got. Since moving I have quit taking all my medication for Asthma.
So far it was a good move.:thumbsup:
