Oil filter for 4720ch

Thanks for taking those apart and posting. If I understand right with the Branson filter there'd be more layers of material for the oil to pass through. is that better or worse? I don't know. Maybe there's more filtering but more of a pressure drop.

No there is only one layer of material to go thru. The Branson filter is larger in diameter than the Napa so when you stretch it out it is longer but the Napa is a longer filter and not as big in diameter. It ends up the Napa has more media than the Branson's in square inches. My thoughts after taking both apart the Napa will do as good and probably better job filtering than the Branson's. I have a piece of mind knowing that my Napa parts store not a mile from me has what I can use and with no adverse effects on the motor. Just my thoughts. My closest Branson dealer is over a hundred miles away and ordering either by phone or on the inter webs sometime is a hassle. Maybe someone with better knowledge will have some input and make me change my mind and hopefully some will let everyone know by what they see in the pictures it's just as I think.
