So I love my new ZD1511 but these parked regens are driving me nuts! I look like an idiot sitting in the middle of my side acreage waiting 30 minutes for it to complete. Every 11 hours on the nose it goes from no lights to warning buzzer demanding a parked regen. The dealer is coming out Tuesday afternoon to hook up to the computer but anyone else having this consistent of a problem? I run full throttle and I mow for about an hour and 15 minutes at one time and always check the display before I shut it off.

Hopefully it’s just a software fix. I was considering selling my (2) older ZD mowers and getting a new one, but I really like having one as a backup machine.
On any machine that size 30 minutes seems like a long time for a regen. Perhaps that’s also an issue. My L4060 usually completes a regen in less than 15 minutes. Anyway.... hope you get it squared away soon.

Please let us know what happens. I can't imagine it was designed to work that way.

Well, the tech came and found a code in the computer for a DPF error. He cleared the code and ran a regen. The engine increased in rpm and held there while white smoke was produced from the exhaust. It then idled down held for awhile and then reported the regen was done with no codes. We will see what happened but I have never experienced the high engine rpm and smoke. His guess was it had never correctly completed a regen. So hope for the best, I guess.

Dealer I bought from did a forced regen before I took delivery of my 1511.
I have had no issues at all with 115 hrs showing. It's been through a lot of regens for sure. About one every 15 hrs.

I hope that is my experience. All my Kubota equipment has been great. Just hope the ZD1511 isn’t my first Kubota I regret buying. Time will tell.

THAT'S only one of the reasons I bought my Z from Ferris {IS2600Z}.

19hp Yanmar is just under the rule for DPF and/or DEF.

My LS tractor's regen worked flawlessly.
Once I found about the issue with 2K rpm working range.

I have a ZD1511 which I bought new last year. It now has just over 100 hours. The first regen occurred at about 11 hrs and it failed to complete successfully. Dealer tech came over and did a park regen and it has operated fine ever since performing a regen about every 11 hrs. Wouldn't even know it's doing a regen except the indicator is illuminated. This ZD1511-72 mower is much nicer than the previous ZD331-72 I had. From what I've read, it's not uncommon for a problem on the first regen for these engines. Hopefully, yours will be free of issues from now on.

My ZD1511 uses a little more fuel per hour than my ZD331, but the ZD1511 mows faster, i.e., more area per hour.

Update, my unit did it’s first auto regen since the tech cleared the computer! Only problem was the light illuminated right as I got done mowing. So there it sat for about 15 to 20 minutes running in my driveway to finish the regen. I didn’t want to stop it out of fear it would code out again. Makes no sense to me but whatever. I probably should of got the 1211 instead, oh well. Weird that it regens consistently at every 11 hour interval.

They are required to do so.

That does not mean that all do.

Depending upon your serial number, there may well be upgrades that must be done.

Yes. There are Kubota REGEN service actions available but only as needed, as per dealer service tech. So, if you are having regen issues, you should consult with your Kubota dealer.

My 1511 regens about every 11 hours religiously. It is a royal pain if it happens just as you are finishing. I keep a record of each regen in a small notebook and plan accordingly for using the mower. That works for me because I have two large properties to mow and I don't mow all at once.

If I had it to do over again, I'd go with the 1211 with air ride seat installed by the dealer.

Sunnyside, now that you’ve had the ZD1511 a while : how are you liking It as far as the regens ?

I’m wanting one to go with my current ZD1211 72 but scared of the regen trouble.

I mow at WOT 8+ hrs per week.

The B3350 replacement (LX3310) with common rail injection is now available.

Though I've yet to hear anything, one would expect that the same common rail engine will be used in 4 cylinder ZT and F series mowers.

Wait.

*Available* is a relative term. Few, if any have shipped yet. Regarding common rail engines in mower applications we all can’t wait. But I bet we will wait until all existing current engine stock is depleted.

I trade down from a 3350 to a 2380 .....just saying!

Of course.

Advise still relevant.

Wait.

I now have about 200 hrs on mine and haven't had any failures with the ZD1511. When it does a REGEN I don't even know it except the indicator illuminates for apprix 0.5 hrs while running. I run at 2500 rpms as instructed by the dealer tech and mow very fast, never ever run out of power. My wife thinks I'm nuts running so fast but I have a lot of yard to mow at two different places.

My biggest beef is if it's doing a REGEN and I'm done mowing but have to run longer to complete the REGEN before stopping.

Wait until you start it up to change the oil, move to another location, etc., and the regen lamp comes on.

Really annoying.
