Wiring Harness:

Had to swap the green and blue wire, ground and 12 volt from switch.

Original picture shown, see the blue and green wire.

Engine Mounting in Tub:

For my 422, i mounted back so engine housing just touches the hinge part of the lid.

Power difference between the "22" Hp robin's and is significant. Was mowing with rough cut, uphill in heavy 6' tall grass, i wouldn't have been able to do that with the old engine. I would have mowed down the slope before.

How were your pumps mounted? Mine are one in front of engine one in back.

Cqaigy2- wow, I am really impressed. That is a great job, with minimal tools. I am such a novice- I think that I would need a complete machine shop to do an engine swap. I am putting you up for the 2018 shade tree mechanic of the year award!

Nicely done.

All the best,

Peter

Aw shucks, Peter. :p

I do own a 3/8 corded electric drill, so that made it much easier to poke the holes where they needed to be. I am a novice, especially compared to what others have done and posted in the PT forum.

Nice job! Can you post some pics of the new engine installed? Otherwise it never happened!
Also, the crushed oil filter comes up invalid attachment- could you repost that too?
I'd give you a ++ on shade tree mechanic. I've replaced a lot of engines over the years as a pro mechanic, and cutting the shaft length would have me sweating; oh darn it's too short!:duh:

For sure, cutting the shaft had me worried.

Lets try that oil filter again.

This is a closeup of the engine installed. I was taking a picture of the "new improved" muffler. Notice the HOT, that's new.

Did you pull the old engine then measure for the correct shaft length, or what was your procedure?

Lets try that oil filter again.

Yikes, looks like they tried to punt with it for a field goal! At least it landed on something unimportant?!:confused2:

That's easily explained, the woman from McDonalds used something similar as a step with bare feet, and sued the company for not telling her it's hot!

One more pic please. Whole machine with new engine, no trick photography this time! Ha!
