Neighbor has elected to damage over 20 trees

Some lighthearted info. I am not a pilot ! I retired from United Airlines last year after 27 years as a aircraft mechanic. My last 10 years were spent taxing airplanes and doing high power runups at Chicago O'Hare airport. Moving planes to and from the hangar and various terminals. Plus some of the foreign carriers. The 747 was the crown jewel to taxi. Hence my TBN name of 747 driver !!

I was wondering about that.... I grew up around airplanes, as a couple of my best friend's fathers were aircraft salesmen, and both owned F.B.O.'s at different local airports. I ended up working for one, then the other for about 6 years. Spent the last 3-4 years as line chief/foreman, whatever it's called these days. That was my favorite job ever. However, it didn't have good benefits, I got married, finished electronics school and needed a job with benefits before we started our family. I miss it, but no regrets. Still live near an airport. We had a B17 flying tours over our house every half hour Saturday and Sunday. :thumbsup:

I also did 4 years in the AF during Vietnam working on F4s. Where we live the air guard like to fly the fighters along the Smokey mtn ridgelines ! I luv the smell of jet fuel in the morning !

The F4 was the first airplane model I ever built with my father.

We called the other owners and asked if he had contacted them...all said no.

The ROW is marked on the Plat survery...50 ' ROW from center line of road. There is no rules or restrictions in everybody's Deed. Just the ROW was for exit and entrance to individual property's.

So the total distance from side to side of the ROW is 100 feet.



I was wondering if this was going to turn out to be the case.

We never knew you were so famous.... Wait a minute,,,,, B17s were bombers...... so why were they flying tours over your house ???? :confused3: is there something we should know?

Thinking ya'll made the right decision to survey, mark and fence the property line and stake the road centerline (ROW)Assuming the Right of Way is 25' on either side of the road centerline.
Totally agree he should have asked the property owner where to put the soil, rock, trees and stumps he removed from the ROW.
The destruction and removal of the stone wall to his property clearly shows intent.
This neighbor sounds like trouble, greedy and acts with disregard to others. You claimed this is not the only things this person has done to others property without their permission.
May I suggest hidden trail-cams on trails if you believe they are trespassing on your land, and no hunting-fishing or trespassing signs.
Glad to hear you are letting it go. Narry a day goes by which we can find trouble if we look for it.

I lived on a "dirt road" maintained by the county.. When it came time to pave it.. nobody was notified..
Survey stakes just showed up in everones yard one day..
The following week, mailboxes were torn down & thrown in our yards, along with border fences..
I came home from work to find they had graded the "wider" road, all on MY SIDE.. taking quite abit of my property..
I called & asked about it & was told,>> "the power poles are on the "other side" & it would be to costly to move them"..
SO NOW, a big chunk of my prop. is "county" road & the new right of way easement comes further on it..
& not a dam thing I can do about it..

They like to look at the STUDEBAKER tree sign, and the University of Notre Dame....
