Need to encourage more snakes to hang around! No more rodent problem!

A friend was in the Rangers in Lao^H^H Vietnam. He was up in front of a promotion board.
Promotion boards are full of Regular Army officers; they hate Special Forces.

"So, you are one of those Snake Eaters?" the question went.

"No SIR. We don't eat snakes, we like them... Snakes kill the rats..."

The screening - wherever it has been done - may keep the mice out. What about the dead mouse/mice now moldering away in the seat.

I just HAVE TO get a couple replacement outside cats. The mice and pocket gophers are taking over the place.

Where are these statistics?
House cats have their territory, not that far from home. We have had cats for years as well have having birdhouses everywhere and feed/water birds. Rarely if ever does a cat kill a bird, and I mean over 100 cats over 60 years.
You're way off base...cats do more good than harm. Ever hear of the Bubonic plague? In the Middle Ages, devil-fearing Christians killed cats, which carried the unintended consequence of increasing the rat population and the spread of the Black Death.

Again...it is you that is misinformed...yes cats kill mice and rats...but it is usually human activity (mostly laziness) that is responsible for attracting said mice and rats to near domiciles...your argument is ludicrous...

We've had a lot more songbirds on the yard since the owls cleaned up the cats. Owls for the most part leave the songbirds but clean up the mice etc. It was a good trade.

:thumbsup: Owls are native and are part of a harmonic balance within an ecosystem...domestic (and feral) cats are a NON-native, highly invasive species and are detrimental to a natural balance...

There were 3 or 4 feral cats around here about 3 years ago. Don't see even one anymore. Either the highway or the coyotes must have claimed them, or maybe one of the local bald eagles.
