You enjoy Google searches so much, try "dogs kill billions "
Don't Just Blame Cats: Dogs Disrupt Wildlife, Too - Live Science

Live Science Planet Earth

So no one...and and I no one should have a domestic pet. Become well informed enough to realize the scourge of our planet is domestic pets and they all must be eradicated!

First off it's an incorrect assumption on your part that "I enjoy google searches..." but it is funny that conducting the search you recommended returned a list of related data that was 99% about how destructive cats are to native wildlife and the word "cat(s)" was not even in the query...

You seem angry..is it because you dislike my opinions or is it because you were wrong and you didn't care for reading factual data that was contrary to what you thought?

FYI...IMO...The bond between companion animals (regardless of species or origins) and their human counterpart can be no less strong than humans are capable of...

There is a huge difference between species of animals that have been domesticated (or somewhat domesticated)...for instance canines carry far less of a natural killing instinct than felines...interests in breeds and breeding have played a major role in domestication.

IMO there is little that is as fascinating and entertaining as watching a working dog or a sporting dog performing it's job using it's natural instincts...the herding class of dogs is exceptional in this regard IMO...

but...IMO...any and all non native, predator species of animal/pet be it dog, cat, lizard, python, boa, lion, tiger etc., etc...should not be allowed to prey on any native species...and it should be the responsibility of the owner of said animals to prevent them from doing so...

I don't care for Jerry Clower.
By your response I knew you were a dog man. I used to be a staunch dog man myself until meeting my wife 46 years ago who had both, mainly cats. My first one, a Russian Blue and I instantly made the transition. Believe me, I'm a general animal lover of our horses, cats, Retriever...but cats are absolutely amazing.
My point to you was internet research will take you wherever you want to go. That study you referenced stated cats kill billions of birds...10% by some estimates.
Then other research shows not to blame cats, dogs kill too. So in the grand scheme of things it's meaningless drivel. I think about all the birds we feed, bird/owl houses we have. I guarantee we have added WAY more to the bird population around here than any bird any of our cats may have killed.
The bottom line is a responsible pet owner takes care of their animals. They all, and I MEAN ALL! serve an important purpose. The cat takes care of mice, dogs most other larger nuisances including giving protection. Our cats all these years I've not seen kill birds. Mice, rats, squirrels (rarely), moles, rabbits. Yes, some destructive things I shoot.
As a cat owner I do get angry thinking about if we were neighbors and you shoot my pet cat just like you would not like me shooting your dog.
There would be major problems.

Thanks atsah...the voice of reason! Balance of nature is the key.

You are still a very misinformed individual and you seem oblivious to actually learning something you already have ill conceived opinions about...BTW...I own no dogs or any pets...

Here's a thought. Why not let others chime in with their thoughts rather than singleing me out?
All I said in my original post was a good outdoor cat was worth a lot. Then you go off on this goofy tangent about cats killing birds. All I'm saying is if you don't want mice destroying stuff get a cat! For God's sake man, get back to CNN news and enjoy that!

I would chime in but I’m to busy watching my cats kill song birds.

Take the seat cushion off and sit it on an ant hill for a week. They will clean out everything that isn稚 calcium. We used to clean skulls in this fashion.

Did the mouse enter the seat through an existing opening or did it chew a hole?

If you can cope without use of the seat for a week to ten days...remove the seat and place it over an ant bed...they will leave nothing but bone...

Now THAT's an idea, if fire ants will work!

(There's a center hole of say 1" * 2" and multiple vents around the edges...)

Can you borrow someone's inspection camera? You could run it in the hole to try and see what all is going on inside. The only problem about using ants is you could also get maggots in there too. Ants do a fantastic job of cleaning but they do not always get everything so there still can be an odor. The best thing to try and do is get most of the mouse parts out if possible and then maybe try the ants for the parts you cannot get out.

Check eBay. If this is it...it's $113. I'd either replace it or take to upholstery shop. s-l400.jpeg

We have such a camera, useful for looking inside cylinders via spark plug hole.

But this seat has a rigid bottom plate (With center hole...) that is threaded for mounting.

Inside that is a moving plastic piece, above that the foam.
Think mouse is between two; not much space and zero when sat upon.
