Where do you guys buy your oil and filters?

If the filter has been out there for any length of time you can www the part number stamped on the case and get good replies. I shop ebay for filters. Just bought hyd filters for my 3910 and 6530 just this week.

Thanks.. I've seen Kubota filters sold on ebay as well... I'm due for the transmission oil change.. will check it out over the next week or two.

I sometimes buy OEM filters, and sometimes buy them from NAPA...

My NAPA dealer is closer than my tractor dealer, so I guess I AM supporting my local store...

I prefer OEM filters, unless I can get what I am sure is just as good elsewhere. For cannister type oil filters it's impossible to know what's inside without destroying the filter. In the past some aftermarket motorcycle filters have failed causing engine damage.

The OEMs don't make their filters. If I can find out who does make them and I can get their part number I can use those instead.

Oil I buy locally or on line if I can't find what I want locally.

I buy OEM Kubta filters for my Kubota since I have a close by dealer and NAPA filters for the others. I buy oil at Wally World due to price and selection. Our auto stores don’t have as good of selection of oil and rarely as good of price.

On my daily driver cars I have Wally World change the oil. Mobil1 and new filter for under $50. Can’t beat that.

I buy my filters from the local JD dealer but get my oil from other local shops. I try to support my dealer when I can but I refuse to pay too much for oil. I'll pay for the JD hydraulic oil but not the motor oil. Honestly, I kind of have a price point on every item that I'm willing to pay but not a dime more. If my dealer cannot offer the item in my acceptable price range, I'll buy it somewhere else locally. I do allow for some markup just because it is green or says "John Deere" but only within reason.

So far, I have only bought oil filters (only 50 hrs on mine) and I bought from my Kubota dealer. They told me they use Valvoline 15w-30 which I don't buy from them. When I get to doing the other filters and hst, I'll be using Kubota filters and oil. I buy grease elsewhere as well (Wolf's Head Red Grease)

I use 5W40 Mobil 1 and also use the Mobil 1 filter, I buy them both at Wally World..

I don't know enough about lubricants, transmissions and engines to stray from Kubota's recommended oils. This is just me talking but Kubota seems to keep a tight lid on distributors of their materials .... some competition would be nice.

IMHO,why do folks who purchase a $20,000-$40,000 tractor then try to cheap out on oil filters.Why not support your local dealer who sold you the tractor?Just curious??

Do you buy all of your car and or truck service stuff from the local dealer?

I take care of the engine oil/filter changes, air filters and other minor maintenance. As far as the transmission/hydraulic fluid, the tractor goes to the dealer for that as I have no way to drain the 7-9 gallons of hydraulic fluid...which isn't necessary that often.
As long as one uses factory filters, there's little chance the dealer or company (John Deere in my case) will contest any failures.

Even using factory oil filters (an annual event here) just isn't that expensive...
